SAP Legacy System Migration Workbench (LSMW)

This the most helpful SAP book I've purchased. Sadly the task now is LTMC's with SAP S/4HANA so this has changed the game a bit. Maybe a new book is needed for that?If you are using ECC and need to use LSMW's, then you will find this book very helpful.

This book is extremely helpful for both beginners trying to learn about LSMW and also for experienced professionals looking for finer details. Every chapter is filled with screenshots and step by step explanation which makes understanding complex topics very easy. Special chapters are dedicated to often left out but important points like "long texts" migration and transporting of projects. I fully recommend this to anyone currently working or would be working in future on SAP data migration projects.

Having bought this book a year ago, and with little experience of using LSMW, I can highly recommend this book to get productive very quickly. The book provides simple but effective explanations, and I’ve not come across anything else as concise. The chapter on text loading was especially useful.

An guide to LSMW

Sehr gute kurze Zusammenfassung der LSMW, ohne zu tief in Details einzusteigen. Wer mehr sucht, muss sich wohl oder übel die teureren Bücher vom Rheinwerk-Verlag kaufen. Wer Grundkenntnisse in SAP hat und schnell eine Einführung in die LSMW braucht, ohne je was davon gehört zu haben, für den ist das Buch sehr gut.Leider kann das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis nicht ganz überzeugen, die Aufmachung des Buches entspricht den üblichen 9,90-€-Büchern, verlangt werden aber 19.90€. Das ist aber der einzige Minuspunkt.

Dieses Buch hat mir bei meinen Herausforderungen auf der Arbeit nicht weiterhelfen können. Obwohl ich zum Zeitpunkt der Anschaffung wenig SAP Erfahrung hatte, war mein Erkenntnisgewinn durch das Buch minimal. Meiner Meinung nach taugt es nicht viel vor allem, wenn man in Betracht zieht, dass eine offizielle SAP Doku für Jedermann zur Verfügung steht und hier der Anspruch vorhanden sein muss sich davon abzuheben.
