Great Sound!

DR strings are better than RotoSound and Ernie Ball
ANY DR string set is top-notch. These are the ones you want to use for Jazz Bass clones that have a stiff feel, or you have smaller hands, or a young person needing something easier to push down. Hi Beams and Low Riders are the main ones people use, but these are the lighter gauge ones. Also what you need if you are doing a lot of speed runs/position shifts, and a regular light set of 105's are still too stiff. I haven't used these yet (still haven't put them on), I normally use a .95 set, but let's see what happens. Plus they will usually outlast the bass, if you wipe them down.

DR Sunbeams bass strings are exceptional for their warm, rich tone and smooth feel. The nickel wrap over a round core gives them a perfect balance of flexibility and sustain, making them ideal for both fingerstyle and slap. They’re also easy on the fingers and maintain a consistent tone for a long time.

Excellent!
Very easy to play and great sounding. The perfect balance between warmth and brightness. I've tried many strings trying to get that perfect tone. These replace the Rotosound 77's which arte flatwound so maybe not a fair comparison, but I like these much better.

DR SunBeams - 5 String Bass
Made the switch to these strings years ago from ernie ball's and im glad i did! Very happy with the round core feeling. To me, it makes a HUGE difference when playing for long periods of time.

My go to string
Love the sound and feel of these. I have 20 some basses, DR strings are on the majority of them, Sunbeams and Black Beauties. I will confess, Labella Beatle bass strings are on the acoustics and they are amazing.

Fresh, bright–but not obnoxious
I like a bright bass string, but some kinds are pretty obnoxious for the first week or two. Not Sunbeams. They sound fresh, but full. Bright, but not zingy. I could put these on my Warwick 5 and do a recording session the next day. In fact I probably will do just that next time I'm heading into the studio.
