Phenomenal for the price: good beginner BT headphone
Purchased these about 3 weeks ago. I haven't had a pair of over-ear headphones in years so I didn't want to break the bank on my first new pair if it turned out over-ear is no longer my thing. First off these over-perform for the price, the sound is phenomenal, the battery life is very solid, they're comfortable although not necessarily stylish. The bluetooth pairing has worked perfectly for me with one exception. All that being said I have been a Bose man for years and was looking into the QuietComfort II, but they're 3.5x the price of these and like I said if it turned out I hated having over-ears again I didn't want to be out that chunk of change. About two weeks after I bought these I was over at a friends and picked up his pair of QuietComfort II's, paired them to my phone and I was blown away, I'm not sure if they were 3.5 times better than these but they were more comfortable, lighter and the sound was noticeably better. This is when I had my first pairing problem with the Sennheiser, it was like they knew I was cheating on them with a better pair of headphones, as soon as I disconnected from the Bose and tried to repair with these they started acting finicky and cutting in and out. I had to go into my phone and delete the bose from the remembered devices before these would reconnect correctly to my phone. Talk about being petty. I'm going to rock with these for the foreseeable future but if I end up having a little bit of cash burning a hole in my pocket Im going with Bose without a doubt next time.

Relatively affordable, excellent audio quality, very comfortable, incredible battery life,
Summary: The Sennheiser HD 4.40BT is a relatively affordable wireless headset by a well-known brand. It generates excellent audio quality, has incredible battery life and very comfortable to use for long hours. The headset is light, made from quality materials, the Bluetooth connection works great with no disturbances, and you can operate it using NFC as well. Before reviewing this headset I’ve been using it for more than a year, and I can say that it took me time to appreciate the HD 4.40BT's audio quality. The sound experience it offers is worth every penny. It generates the right sound for every type of audio content I've been listening to, whether it's music (from all genres), lectures and audio books or phone calls. The bases are sharp but not explosive. It can reach a high-volume level, but there's no distortion in the sound. And when listening to audio using this headset, especially to music, you enjoy from a full sound experience. At the beginning of my video review, I placed the microphone next to the headset, so you'll be able to hear how it sounds. I do that because I'm asked by my viewers, who wants to know as much as possible on the products I review. But let's be honest, it can hardly reflect the audio quality unless you'll be using the headset yourself. And if you will try this headset, then you'll probably won't want to take it off. Though this model doesn't offer ANC (Active Noise Cancellation), you will be quite isolated from your environment. If you don't listen to audio then everything around you will be much quieter, while if you listen to music, at a certain level you won't hear anything from your surroundings. According to Sennheiser, the battery should last up to 25 hours, but assuming you don't raise the volume level to the maximum level, the battery will last much more than that. I always kept asking myself when the last time was that I charged the battery because I kept using it for such a long time between each charging. I would say that if you're using normal volume level, the battery can reach even 50 hours. As for how comfortable this headset is, you’ll be glad to know this is one of the most convenient headsets I've ever worn. The headband & the earphones are padded well (but not too much), the earphones have a range of movement that is adaptive to the shape of your head, and the headband is elastic and extends to the right size of your head. The HD 4.40BT is made from quality materials. And after more than a year of intensive use, the headset still looks & feels great. During this time, it took some bumps & scratches while, but thanks to the type of materials, they are almost unnoticeable, and allows the headset to withstand much worse damages that could leave a mark. This is one of the main differences compared to a low-budget headset since it isn't made from cheap plastic or includes a simple cushion to soften the earphones and headband. I noticed that sometimes when I minimize the arc, the arc isn't fully minimized from both sides, and the pops a bit outside. Since the quality of materials and build quality are great, and I was very careful when using this headset, I'm not sure if the headset is meant to be like that (since it is also foldable), or it just happened over time – but this isn’t a deal breaker for me. The Bluetooth connection works great, and I didn't encounter any disturbances or disconnections whatsoever. There’s a designated app for this headset named “Sennheiser CapTune”, that I almost didn't use. When I did try it, I almost didn't have what to play with it, since I consume my content mostly from YouTube & Audible, which aren’t supported by this app. The pouch that comes with the package is from good quality and is useful for cleaning the earphones. It is common to offer such pouch with headsets, and yet, I wish Sennheiser would give instead (or in addition) a hard case to store & carry this headset. Overall, If you consider purchasing this headset, then I believe it would be a great purchase. Please note I attached to this review screenshots + a video review I made about my experience with this controller. The pros: - Excellent Audio quality - Good isolation from the outside - Battery life - Comfortability - Quality of materials - No disturbances in the wireless connection - The built-in microphone enhances your hearing The cons: - The App isn't compatible with YouTube / Audible - The arc can't be minimized perfectly - I wish it came with a hard case **** FAQ : **** If you have any, please do ask and I will do my best to answer them.

Solid BT Headphones. Big Heads should upgrade earcups.
UPDATE 1 Year Later: So everything in my original review stands. Great battery life, like really good. I still wish there was an audible indication on how much battery life is remaining but I've yet to run into a problem with these. Sometimes I'll go weeks between uses and they'll still be fine. The biggest improvement, however, came after I upgraded the earcups. The OEM earcups were just too uncomfortable for my big head ( 7 3/4). However, I purchased a pair of Brainwavz HM 5 Velour ear cups for $20 & it upgraded the comfort level immensely. Now, rather than being on-ear headphones with the OEM pads, they are truly over the ear because the HM 5s have a much wider opening. The downside is that this affects the sound signature a bit. You lose some bass, so bassheads be warned. But, in my opinion, the gain in comfort outweighs the loss in sound quality. I will note, however, that these are $100 headphones & BT at that so they were *never* meant to be audiophile grade headphones. So folks looking at these specific headphones should set their expectations appropriately. I use my Beyer DT 880s or Senn 650 for more critical listening. I bought these specifically for portability -- when I am in a coffee shop writing for a few hours & just need something serviceable. These fit that bill. If you're expecting these to sound like Audeze LCD-4s, then you're going to be really disappointed. ---- I've had these for about a week now. I love them, with a caveat for those folks with larger heads. First, sound: I'm not an audiophile but have several pairs of midrange headphones. My favorites are Beyerdynamic 880s for reference. For wireless Bluetooth headphones, these things rock. I would compare them with my Senn HD 598s. They just sound right to me. I listen to a lot of punk and these seem great for that genre. These aren't bass-heavy so if that's your cup of tea, you may want to look elsewhere. Fit: I have a large head. 7 3/4 big. The clamping force on these is a bit painful. My 880s are super comfortable as are the 598s. I think it's due to the fact that although these are supposed to be over the ear, they actually sit on my ears. Sometimes I'll maneuver them a bit to sort of fit my ears within the cups, but that does little to allieviate the pain. It's not ridiculous like the Beyerdynamic DT 1330s but it gets uncomfortable after an hour or so. On the positive side, a quick break/adjustment and I'm good to go. The earcups are extremely cushy. These aren't noise canceling but due to the size of the earcups and how they sit on your head, they block out a fair amount of noise. I suspect they will be great for commutes, on planes, and etc. I normally use them in a coffee shop that often plays ridiculously loud music and I don't have any problems. Bluetooth: no connectivity problems with my iPhone, PC, or Mac. I can switch between them with little effort. Battery life: seems great. Haven't had to charge them yet but they've held up for several long writing sessions. Portability: these fold up quite compactly. They come with a cloth bag that I don't use. I just shove them into my bag and forget them. If you're concerned about breakage, you'll prolly have to buy an hardcase from somewhere else. Extras: there's a micro USB charging cable as well as a 3.5mm connector. Price: you really can't beat the $150 price tag--at the time of review obvi. I looked at Sony MDR-1000x & Bose QC 35 as well. With the durability questions surrounding the Sony and the price tag of the QC 35, I figured ANC isn't a feature I *need* and certainly not worth (for me) the additional $200 for the Bose. Your calculus will obvi be different. For my money, I couldn't be happier with the purchase. I normally just used my 598s as my everyday headphones but, since they don't fold and have that wire, I wanted wireless. I'm glad I bought these.

Actually this Headset / Headphone does come with some cons but these surely even compete against some top of the end wireless ANC Headphones like Bose QC35. Also 4.3 stars are for Sennheiser HD 4.40BT and 1 Star is for Really unexpectedly fast delivery & Good packaging too. ---------→ Sound quality :- Now Coming to Sound quality of these Cans.... It was UNEXPECTEDLY GOOD for wireless 11k cans. It's Bit unique I would say it simply has Typical Sennheiser sound signature with More emphasize on Vocals and It is Mid Bass Centric and have bit less Emphasized Low end bass But that low end bass is still there and is presented in very Control way. I would also like to mention these Cans do sound bit better in Bluetooth Mode Specially Bass distortion is very very less and it's well presented and well Controlled. Also it does retain 80-85% Volume as compare to it's wired mode which can be really loud and In WIRED MODE these Cans sound superb and really good enough bass to even satisfy a bass head which I am not. Highs are bit rolled off and Treble detail is there but not much as you would expect if you have used any good Audiophile Headphones then you'll get my point. But Whole Treble / High freq spectrum is presented in such controlled way that these cans sound really really relaxed and you ain't going to feel any sort of ear fatigue. • So yeah these DO Sound BIT WARM BUT VERY RELAXED AS WELL VERY SMOOTH so you can use these cans for even 5-6 hours continuously without any sort of ear fatigue and these are very very breathable Headphones. Mind you I ain't an Audiophile but I tried my best to explain how these sound. Just for a side note I do own Audio Technica M50x and these don't sound as AGGRESSIVE & In your face and DOESN'T SOUND AS DETAILED as M50's. But I can guarantee you that You are definitely going to enjoy these cans like very much and these are fun to listen to RELAXED sounding Headphones. Also I have Tried Sony XB950bt, Xb650ap, xb450ap, Bose Qc35 ( Picture included ), Beats solo 3 ( Picture included ) and these do stand out and sound far better yes even better than all of those cans and Specially even better than 30k Priced Bose Qc35. Maybe bass heads will choose Xb950bt or Skull Candy Crushers which sounded very less details and they were totally bass centric. ------------→Pros :- 1) These are very light weight Headphones and earpads of these Cans are simply very freaking comfortable ( for small to Avg size ears ). 2) After 2-4 hours of usage once you'll get familiar with it's Controls then it does certainly have very simple straight forward Trigger button to pick up phone calls and to skip songs and for fast forwarding and approx all sorts of functions are quite easy to do with that Button. And Volume buttons do provide feedback which that Trigger Multifunction Button doesn't provide which is totally fine for me. 3) These are well Build Headphones for Specially it's price range and these surely do provide Premium feeling and These do have that minimalistic design and it's actually really Very Beautiful simple Looking design and very Public Friendly design so you can wear them in public while looking cool and without catching attention of many people. 4) Fit and stability of these cans is simply superb and once you'll wear them you can go to Gym, Running, for work out or any sort of activity. As these cans simply have good fit and doesn't slip from your head. 5) BT Pairing of these cans is very simple procedure and You can pair it with two different devices at a time and These do provide really excellent Bluetooth range as I was able to use even in my duplex house too. Also whenever you Power on These Cans simply keep bluetooth of your device Always ON as these cans do pair automatically with the device if that device is available to connect. 6) Call quality on these cans is simply superb and these certainly do impressive work as you can listen to your own voice too otherwise you'll end up speaking loudly while using these cans as Headsets because of Noice isolation of these cans. It's omni directional mic also picks up some background noises as well. 7) Passive Noise cancellation / Noise isolation of these cans is simply damn good and so good I literally thought I am wearing an ANC enabled Headset. There is minimum Sound Leakage even at 100% Volume and specially if you are sitting in a bit noisy environment like travelling in Bus so person sitting next to you simply ain't going to be disturbed at all . 8) These have quick pairing NFC option so without pressing it's power button Everytime you can simply slide your NFC enabled Android phone over it's Left earcup to simply pair it with these HD 4.40BT and these also come with AptX codec too. 9) Battery life of these Cans is simply freaking amazing. There was 30% battery left Even after 20-21 hours of usage at 100% volume and I also used these headsets for calling in that 20-21 hours usage interval. Specially It's audio plug is positioned in such manner as well it's included cable is so light that you won't feel like that you are using them in Wired mode. ------------→Cons :- 1) Your earsize should be either small or avg and if you are ears are large or way above avg earsize then your These cans might be bit Uncomfortable for you because it's Earcups are more suited for Small to Avg size ears. (Check M50x earpad vs HD 4.40BT earpad size difference in picture.) 2) These cans surely have bit more clamping force and you might actually have to adjust these after half to one hour But if you'll find that sweet position by adjusting them a little bit so you can wear these for hours and hours without any issue at all. 3) There is Bit of a distortion in Wired mode at 100% volume in like 2/3 songs outta 100 songs which are Mid bass Centric songs and naturally really really loud songs too & which I have on my iPhone 5s it simply feels like Bit overdriven for those 2/3 songs and due to that there is bit fuzz type noise in Mids other than that for rest of 97 songs these did a freaking job of sounding really good and really relaxed as well without any Sound & Specially bass distortion at all. ( I am pretty sure these are being overdriven for those specific songs ). 4) Carrying pouch or bag is bit of disappointment which I shouldn't mention for it's price point but still it's not something that reliable pouch which you would like to have for these cans. And So yeah this was my Review about it and Thanks for checking out my Review. Also I bought these for 7500 while they were on discount but these do certainly deserve 11k easily and I do recommend these to anyone looking to buy wireless cans under 11k. ---------→ Some Side Notes :- 1) Yes, These Cans do Require some burn in and after two week usage ( 4-5 hours on daily basis ) bass has improved so as other Upper Mids and treble has more detail now specially bass has increased and is being presented more tightly and it's bass now goes even more deep without leaking in mid spectrum at all and These do surely sound better after some burn in. 2) For Those WHO ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT LOW VOLUME in Bluetooth Mode....... - First Make Sure to Increase Volume of these cans to Max 100% as well as volume of your mobile media player to 100% as well. - Use High Quality 320Kbps Audio Files otherwise low quality audio files can result into low volume in Bluetooth Mode. - For Videos Use Mx Video player and use its SW Decoder and increase Volume of your music video or movie to 30 if you want to. I will keep updating this Review if I need to in future.

I love headphones. As such I have a number of different sets that I use for a variety of purposes. I generally use them for at home listening, and usually favour wired open-backed over ear headphones that avoid bloated or muddy bass. My current sets are Sennheiser HD599, AKG 702, Beyer 880 and also HD 598CS, and Bose soundlink II. I have tried a number of others that have had to be returned for a variety of reasons. I have wanted a Bluetooth Headphone for casual use, without it being so expensive that I would be afraid to throw it in a bag-and in these Senns I have found it. They are quite different to my usual style, but they represent great value for money. There are two main qualities that a headphone must have for me to consider it a 'keeper.' Audio quality and comfort. Everything else is optional. Comfort... I'll start with comfort as it was my biggest concern with these. Half the headphones I've tried have been uncomfortable, usually beacuse of my ears not fitting well inside over ear phones. It has often been the case that part of my ear touches the driver and that is very distracting. When I first unboxed these I thought they'd be impossible. The shape and size of the ear 'cavity' is incredibly narrow and small--yet they fit really nicely without irritating my ears. I think this is down the the very deep nd very soft pads. Although 'leatherette' the fabric is also less clamy and sweaty than others (such as the Bose.) Clamping forcxe is just right, and comfort is high. The other problem closed back headphones have is 'thudding' when walking. Although there is some of this it is not nearly as bad as other pairs I have tried, and on a par with the Bose. Sound.. Without good sound everything else is wasted. These have a slightly artificial bump in the bass, but it doesn't come at the cost of clarity accross the range. The highs are very slightly redcessed, but less so than I expected based on reviews-just enough to avoid the harsh sibilance that makes the Beyers fatiguing. Seperation and soundstage are both very good (for the price) and these headphones 'kick' when needed, rumble when required, but get the bass out of the way for more neutral or balanced tracks. If you look for headphones that promote extra bass as a feature then these aren't designed for you. The main word I would use to describe the sound is 'rich and full.' Other stuff. Bluetooth connects, battery is fine, they don't beep bchanging tracks etc. on android. They look fairly high end for the price range. The nearest competitor in my collection are the Bose, and I think I prefer these due to clarity and comfort, but they are both close (with the Bose being significantly costlier.) Closed back are unlikely to ever be my main headphones, but I am happy with these as a truly prtable experience tha retains good quality. I also tried Sony CH500(on ear) which are much cheaper but are the most uncomfortable headphones I have ever worn!
