Yes, you can. There's a slot to pour ground coffee instead of beans if needs be. You change settings (very easy) and voilla

How many liters of water is the tank ?

The manual says 1.8 ltrs of water I have found on mine that if it runs out of water it pauses to allow me to put more water in the tank and then continues to make the coffee I think it’s a fantastic coffee machine so far having only had it a month or so
