NICREW Magi Mini Fish Tank Filter, Internal Aquarium Filter for 20L Tank

Had it for a few months now and she’s still going strong. Many other cheaper filters I’ve tried are generally rubbish but this one was a good find so I’ll give myself a pat on the back for that. I’m lazy so don’t clean it as often as I should but even so it doesn’t stutter on keeping the tank nice and clear and runs 100%. I did find the nozzle with the holes that give the waterfall effect is easily clogged with food debris and can be difficult to clean. I’ve had no issue with the straight nozzle however. Cable is a good length and the power in the water flow is great. It’s easy to put together and generally easy to clean as well as great value for money. Highly recommend.

This is in a large tank alongside a big filter. I bought this to add movement to the water. The fish like it as they swim underneath it. You can take the end cap off (little black cap on the end of the clear tube) which makes it one long pour if you want less bubbles or just stick to the sprinkle design. It's really good value for money. The only thing is if this is, like mine, an additional filter, keep checking the water values as you can have too much filtration and filter out good bacteria through the newest filter. This second filter has extended the time between cleans I just top up the water that evaporated and add the right about of tap safe treatment, and nitrate minus if needed. This is for my Gold fish tank but I suspect would be fine for other fish.

This filter is very good, it's small but powerful. The size of it fits perfect in my 16L tank, it's quiet and doesn't make much noise at all which I like as it doesn't disturb me too much. The most noise it makes is a really quiet humming background noise but barely noticeable. The only negative thing is that it is very powerful so it moves my sand substrate around a lot, to avoid this I have placed my filter horizontally in my tank and now it is completely fine. The filter itself has suction cups and they are very strong when stuck to the glass, doesn't move at all. It's very easy to set up and install. Another good thing is that this filter comes with a filter sponge so I didn't need to buy that separately.

Works perfectly and it is extremely good value. The suction cups are brilliant and the durability of the filter is great. It is so easy to set up and it is very quiet operation just a little trickle of water can be heard but it depends on how high you have the waterfall above the water. It is so easy to clean it just takes a few minutes. All in all a very good value filter and pump.

I am sure it is a good filter but I bought it after researching one for my Betta fish and its fins kept getting trapped in this one so I had to remove it. Luckily it has survived.

This is a good piece of equipment which can be used in several ways. I’ve bought a twelve litre tank to house two little guppies who are the last of their shoal and where their original tank failed ( not mine-I’ve adopted them!). At first I thought the filter was too strong, because the guppies couldn’t swim against the filter’s output. However I adjusted it and used a little overhead waterfall function and the guppies now seem very happy. I’ve never had fish before, so I didn’t really know what I was buying, but this filter fits the bill well. Easy to put in place.
