Wow saw a lot of negative reviews but with first time wearing contacts at 66 years old and tried with fingers for 3 days and couldn’t get on or out for days without terrible struggles . Was gonna give up ans use glasses until I tried this tool . It’s not magic in that it doesn't do it by itself but need to read directions! Putting it got right eye first time in ! Left eye took 2 tries Same for coming out . You need to put it in eye and touch it kinda firmly but slide fingers down and squeeze close to edge so it “pinches “ lens slightly and came right out first time on right ! On left took 2 tries but came out also ! Just have to practice a bit but does work !! It does not suck it off eyeball , need to squeeze close to end so it “pinches “slightly together . Hey if I can do it you all can do it ! Dont give up ! Read the directions and don’t guess at this !! I was so suprised and thrilled it worked like that . Will see how it goes in the morning !!

The Opti-Wand contact lens installer/remover did not work for me. I have no trouble inserting my Dailies 1 soft contacts by Alcon manually. However, these lens have such a perfect curvature to match my cornea that it’s very difficult to break the seal necessary to get them out. The snazzy video and (some positive) Amazon comments led me to order this product. After giving them a good workout and trying to get the necessary technic down I must conclude they won't pinch as described. I use the small end of the Wand with the cut-outs as instructed. The idea is not to use the Wand as a suction cup. Rather it is intended to slightly pinch the lens so that air can get between the lens and the cornea allowing one to lift to be lifted out and away from the eye. Sounds good in theory. The problem with this is that they do not grip the lens allowing one to pinch; they simply slide across the lens. As a test I placed one contact on the tip of my index finger using it to mimic my cornea. But again, they only slide and do not pinch the lens as required. I have tried this with the lens slightly wet with storing solution and with the lens dry. Nothing works. I’ve tried the Wand with other brands of soft lens. They were ineffective here as well. Perhaps others have had more luck. But not me. Quite expensive for something like this even if it did work. I can’t recommend this product.

50+yo, just started trying contacts. I almost gave up because I have large hands and big fingers and I am unable to pinch them to remove them from my eyes. Many painful attempts, very frustrating. My wife saw these and I almost passed due to the many bad reviews. I finally decided that I'd try anything before I gave up. Surprising expensive for what they are, but I am able to grip and pinch them right out of my eyes. So easy and simple. Made it possible for me to keep at the contacts. I don't use them to put the contacts in, I find it easier to just use my finger, but for taking them out, priceless.

Very easy to put contacts in with this tool, but it does nothing to help remove them. I’ve tried for over 30 mins to get this to pinch the lens. I can’t even get it to take it off my finger. If you’re only buying this, thinking it will make it easier to remove your contact lenses, just skip it. Using my fingers works better than this.

Does NOT work for removal, only insertion. More below… I tried pinching the lenses off using both ends, following the instructions. The end result is just pinching, prodding and scratching at your eye until you’re convinced you’ve just seriously messed up your eyeball. Practicing on your finger, like they tell you to, does absolutely nothing. It’s totally different than having a lense on your eye. I even tried to scoop it out with the “slits” on the one end, as another reviewer tried to in their video. No luck. Still struggling to remove my dailies which adhere to my eye so well that they don’t want to come off. I will say this product is great for inserting. Just pick whichever end you want to use, hold your eye open and place it onto your eye as instructed. Normally I fight with my dailies sticking to my finger, turning inside out, sliding off of my finger, etc. This thing makes it SO much easier. However, you can find other tools in this shape and way cheaper than this one. Not that ~$10 breaks the bank. It’s just ridiculous for what the product is.

The only reason I gave this 4 out of 5 is because the removal end does NOT work. Other than that, this thing is a GAME CHANGER! It doesnt feel harsh on the eye, in fact its quite gentle, the only "bad" thing about it could be sometimes the insert cup can be a little TOO grabby, but it holds the lense well, helps prevent inverting (though it does happen if you knock against a lash). The hollowed out center works great because I can focus on the light in the center instead of my eye reactively trying to shut because a large dark shape is approaching my eye. Its small enough you can stick it in a tiny baggie and carry with you anywhere if you need to readjust your lenses without using your fingers. These tools work best with bigger and thicker lenses like the Biofinity Torics, the ones I have. Keep in mind, because this is a smaller tool, it can be super easy to lose... and ive already lost mine... so I will have to order another. 4 out of 5!

I'm notoriously bad at inserting and removing contacts but this little device actually works. I no longer have to rub my eyes raw trying to remove the lenses or losing it behind my eyelid or having it fold in half trying to get it in....the list goes on and on for how terribly wrong inserting and removing contacts have been the past 5 years. I all but gave up on contacts. But I decided to give it another shot with some spares I had and this device. It made inserting and removing extremely easy. The most important thing is to follow the directions. Moisture is important because it helps the contact adhere to you eye and allows it to loosen prior to removal. Make sure to squeeze gently at the base to pinch it, that is how the decice removes the contact, not by suction but a light grab. The insertion is pretty straightforward, the thicker end cradles the contact so you can place it square center on your eye. Much easier than using my fingers. Will definitely get good use out of this. Only thing is I wish is the color was bright like in the photos. Mine is a very pale mint green. It also doesn't say "optiwand" on the side either.

Don't waster $15 for this piece of cheap rubber. It DOE NOT work at all. The worst thing is you cannot return it!

This has made y life so much easier and I found it so easy to use for the money it was great value
