Lavatools PT12 Javelin Digital Instant Read Meat Thermometer for Kitchen, Food Cooking, Grill, BBQ, Smoker, Candy, Home Brewing, Coffee, and Oil Deep Frying

I bought this as a cheaper alternative to a Thermapen one. I instantly regretted it because it takes 2 or 3 seconds to register the heat where the much more expensive one has an instant readout but I've just learned to live with the small delay. It is accurate, it's small, it switches itself on and off as you extend/fold back the probe, it's got a magnetic back so i stick it to my fridge/freezer for easy access. I don't know how I lived without it. If I had to pick four kitchen must haves I would say oversized chef tweezers, a half round silicone spatula/scraper, a potato ricer, and a temperature probe.

Love the thermometer, but there is one frustrating feature: the default temperature reading is in Celsius - I use Fahrenheit. The switch to change the setting is under the battery! To change it, one must use a coin to open the battery compartment, remove the battery (not so easy in this case) and then change the switch. Why not a simple toggle on the case?

Good response and accuracy. Just wish it was easier to switch units between °c and °f as I work with both. It is under the battery, so battery cover and battery both must be removed.

Having procrastinated over getting a food thermometer I could not be more pleased. This product works very well, does everything it is advertised as doing and represents great value for money. It's easy to use and has great utility. I could not be more pleased

Love these thermometers. Great size, price vs. performance is awesome. Ran in a professional restaurant setting for years and now I use them at home. Cheap enough to buy a bunch and hand out to line cooks or family.
