is 18/10 stainless steel better, comparable or worse than 304? please DON'T answer if you don't know!

18/8 and 18/10: These are the two most common grades of stainless steel used for food preparation and dining, also known as Type 304 (304 Grade) and are part of the 300 series. The first number,18, refers to the amount of chromium present and the second represents the amount of nickel. For example, 18/8 stainless steel is comprised of 18% chromium and 8% nickel. 304 grade stainless steel is also comprised of no more than 0.8% carbon and at least 50% iron. The chromium binds oxygen to the surface of the product to protect the iron from oxidation (rust). Nickel also enhances the corrosion resistance of stainless steel. Therefore, the higher the nickel content, the more resistant the stainless steel is to corrosion. 18/0 - Contains a negligible amount of nickel (0.75%) and therefore has a reduced corrosion resistance (is more likely to rust than 18/8 or 18/10 but still high quality) 18/0 is also referred to as Type 430, is part of the 400 series and, unlike 300 series stainless steel, is magnetic.

What is the maximum temperature at which one can use this oven pan & rack (in a conventional broiler?)

I only use mine in my toaster oven. The most is 425°. I love it. Great quality. I have all stainless steel bakeware (all 40 years old) and it appears to be made just as well.

Never had a stainless steel tray. Are you supposed to use cooking spray to keep food from sticking? Thanks

I don't use cooking spray on stainless steel because it tends to leave a film that yellows over time and repeated use. I don't use foil either. My stainless pots and pans clean up without scrubbing if I put hot water with a touch of dishwashing detergent in them after use and leave them to soak for a little while.

Where can I buy the replacement racks for the oven? I’ve been looking on line and your site, can’t seem to locate the part.

This is just a small cookie sheet and rack to fit inside any toaster oven. Not a replacement rack for a toaster oven.

High quality stainless steel

This is such a perfect replacement tray and cooling rack combo! I had a previous tray but it had a nonstick coating as well as the cooling tray and I knew that wasn’t good after it started getting scratched. We have been so pleased with this one and the quality is amazing! No rusting on either the tray or rack. I love to use both trays to make the crispiest homemade chicken wings and this is big enough to fit a family pack of wings on it. Would definitely recommend this stainless steel set to anyone!

Perfect and affordable option.

Good quality. Cools off pretty fast. Shiny, not heavy, perfect size to cook for one person or to heat something up in the oven. Grid isn't very easy to clean by hands, should be better in dishwasher, but I don't have one. Just started using it, so far was very easy and strong, didn't scratch.

Very good, but a bit light weight

This pan was a good buy for my toaster oven. It’s small enough to fit in the oven, and it is much easier to clean than the larger, heavier enameled bake/broiler pan that came with my toaster oven. However I agree with previous reviewers who mentioned that it warped in higher temperatures. That happened in my oven too. Fortunately, when I cooled it off, it seemed to “unwrap”. It’s not perfect, however. Because of the tendency to warp in high temperatures, I will not put it in my dishwasher. I also find the rack somewhat difficult to clean. I still am quite happy with this stainless steel toaster oven basket and rack. It was a very reasonable price and it does the job.

Toaster Oven Trays

These are nice, heavy baking trays. I haven't used them yet but I feel they will last a long time. The price is good too. I paid $10.00, for one similar, at Walmart .

As advertised

Excellent quality. I am impressed by the weight. My old baking pans had a "ridiculous" ridge, which made it nearly impossible to clean. These have a plain, stainless steel bottom, which is a breeze to clean.
