When using a chainsaw I'll get sawdust and chips on my socks and in my shoes. I've been looking for something that will keep the shoes and socks clean so I thought I'd try these. They fit over the shoes nicely and they are snug enough to let my jeans over the top. Another benefit is that they hold the laces securely which should help keep them tied. Due to the weather, I haven't been able to actually have them on when using the chainsaw, but I will update the review after I do. For now, they look promising. UPDATE: I had a chance to put these to use. I cut 5 dead trees down yesterday and had these over the tops of my shoes. They worked great- kept the sawdust out of the shoes and the socks clean. You can see in the picture after I removed one, how clean the sock and shoe are. An added benefit was that these cover the shoe laces so they didn't catch on anything and come undone. Very comfortable too. I forgot I had them on. Highly recommend.

These are my go to for any trail and any heat. The bottom line is that they are not difficult to put on and don’t require a bunch of annoying hooks and buckles and buttons/zippers. Yes I even wear these with thin wool socks in 80 degree temps in the summer and they consistently keep my upper shoe dry. I also wear them in the winter to keep snow out of boots. They are so tough that they held up during an 8 hour bushwhacking hike (no trail) through the muddy thick woods of the Catskills. I kid you not, I stepped in mud up to ankle multiple times and I had no mud past my gaiter line. It won’t keep out water (unless just light rain, but sometimes you don’t want waterproof gaiters for breathable reasons. They do keep snow out (as long as it doesn’t melt). I put some nikwax on them and it boosted their performance and made them easier to clean. Unfortunately I lost these at a trail head yesterday after a hike and I am already back to buy another pair of short gaiters, (I already have the long version). Love this company!!!!

My second pair. I live in the south and am outside a lot. These gaiters keep my ankles from being eaten alive by chiggers and yellow jackets. Highly recommend. For lower calf and ankle protection outside. My first pair I’ve had for years and I’m still using them. I wanted a backup. Same great quality.

These are quite wide so velcro won’t meet up if you have a small lady’s ankle. But they are lightweight, super-quick to apply, and work to keep snow out of my ankle-boots when snowshoeing. I’m glad I bought them.

I love using this for hiking in the spring or during the rainy weather. They're easy to put on, easy to clean, and extremely comfortable, keeping any dirt, mud, leaves, or water from getting into my hiking boots. I love how compact they are as it makes it easy to carry around in my bag and takes up no space. They are really good quality and don't get scratched up from brush or plants as I walk around in the woods. 10/10 Highly recommend for anyone looking for simple, affordable, short gaiters!

Love these gaiters! Wear them over my ski pants when alpine skiing. Keeps the wet snow off my boots - perfect solution.

This is clearly indicated in the photo of this product but, I didn't notice it when I placed the order. Both gaiters are identical. What that means is that one will fasten on the outside of your leg and other will fasten on the inside of your leg. I would prefer they both fasten on the outside of my leg so that I don't brush against the fasteners when I walk. My ankles are quite a bit thinner than my calves so, it isn't much of an issue for me. It might be a bigger deal for someone with thicker ankles. The other thing about it is that it looks kind of goofy. Since I intend to just use these for practical purposes, I don't care. If, however, you are trying to put together a certain look or a costume or something, this issue might be a problem. The construction, materials and fit are all fine. The ones I received had obviously been a return. The tape on the inner package was unstuck and dirty plus, the gaiters themselves were dirty. I wish Amazon would be better about not reselling returned items at full price. It's gross receiving something that is dirty when you have paid full price. I feel cheated.

These are awesome! I had a pair of the light, strap under the boot, nylon zipper style, but like these better. I use them for mowing grass, chain sawing, riding motorcycles through the woods with hiking boots. I like the Velcro as they are easy to put on and you can get the top tight to prevent dirt/wood ships from falling down in the boot, the bottoms can be left a bit loose so they don't ride up (make them tight and they will).

I bought these for crosscountry skiing as I always get snow in my boots when going in deeper snow. You can’t wear regular gaiters with a strap that goes under the boot because the boots have a track for the ski binder, and a strap would just be destroyed in just a few minutes. I needed something without a strap but would still keep the snow out of my boots therefore keeping my ankles from getting cold and wet. These are perfect! They are comfortable and actually keep the warmth in and the snow out! Exactly what I was looking for. Easy to put on and fasten. Give them a try! Edit: Now in March of 2024, I am still using these for all of my forest hikes, running, and walking as I tend to have a gait that causes dirt to get kicked back into the back of my shoes. These are amazing, keeps the dirt out and ticks off of my ankles! They’re low profile too and go with any dark tights/leggings and pants. Easy to wash, just make sure the straps are strapped before putting in the wash so as to not snag on other clothing. I really am happy with these!
