XIAWEI One Way Privacy Window Film Heat & UV Blocking, 17.5In×6.5Ft

After a nosey neighbor rang the doorbell then looked in the window to see if I was coming, I knew a film was going up!!! The pictures attached are with the all black film. No mirror side. It does what it is supposed to. All the tools were included, but I used a felt edge scraper reading about how easy it scratches. Which it does. I was finished, wiping smears off with a kitchen towel and scratched the heck out of it. I had to replace a pane of film. Lesson learned. The backing is hard to peel off. Other films had an edge to separate the two. Not this, but for the price and function I can't complain!!! It is what it is. It looks nice and the visibility looking out is fine. No one can see in either. Be sure to break your blade off frequently for it dulls quickly.

Purchased for our front storm door. Our home faces south east and the afternoon sun is very strong on the front of our home. I could never leave our front door open to see outside in the afternoon because of the intense heat. This window film helps cut down that heat substantially. Installation was straight forward. Cut the material to fit your window and follow the directions. Removing bubbles and creases was quite easy. (again, follow the directions) It is one way privacy, so you can see out but no one can see inside. It is reflective but not mirrored.

I am very satisfied with this product and I'm not sure why some people say it doesn't work. I recently set up a window bird feeder in my closet room window to watch the birds up close and have the family cat see them without scaring them off. It was my first time installing window film. After watching some YouTube tutorials it was overall pretty easy. It was actually a little challenging to place the film on by myself without anyone to help me, but I was able to do it. I made a soapy solution by using about 1 to 2 squirts of baby shampoo in a spray bottle of water. I cleaned the window and sprayed both the glass and the adhesive side of the film (after the clear backing was removed) and placed the film with the wet soapy side to the prepped window. I did accidentally get the film crinkled and sticking to itself but I was able to get it untangled and sticking to the window. You might not be able to see in the first picture but there were little crinkles in some areas of the film that I think were caused by my solo film installation mishap. I don't mind having these imperfections since I'm only using it for my closet window and not in a more open area of the house. After using a window squeegee to remove the soapy later between the film and the glass, I trimmed off the excess using a box cutter. I didn't have a good box cutter that could get into the tight corners so I the edges of the film did not look as good as I wanted it to be. After letting the film set overnight it's still sticking and it seems to work very well! I bought the film in cosmic black that makes the window tinted black from the inside, but it's not too dark that I can't see out of it during the daytime. At night it is harder to see out the window because of the film’s black tint and reflective nature when the lights are on inside the house. I've seen some reviews here saying that it doesn't work. While I don't think this is the most high quality brand of window film on the market, it still works very well under the right lighting conditions. One way window film only works when it's dark or not well lit inside the room and there's a good amount of daylight outside. The film will reflect the light on the outside and create the mirror effect. During the night time when it's completely dark outside but the lights are on in the inside, the effect is reversed and hypothetically someone outside could see inside your window but you can't see anyone outside. If both inside and outside have the same lighting conditions then the one way mirror effect would not be very strong. That's why if you want complete privacy in any lighting condition then having translucent or opaque window film would be a better option. I can't speak to its heat insulation or safety protection from smashed glass. I think that if you want a little bit of daytime privacy on your windows without breaking the bank then I recommend purchasing these! Just make sure you have the right tools and hands to prep the film for easy application.

My second order. I've been waiting for the summer heat to see which windows needed the tint most. It's a great product. Whoever came up with the idea to leave the marked tape in the corner is a genius! I just press the tape on the corner and the film pulls off. But be careful while removing the film. The back of the tint is sticky. I screwed up a whole cut sheet because it bent onto itself and stuck together. I got the 50 and can see through clearly. I'm glad the window glare is finally off my TV. It's making a huge difference in how much heat is getting in. It will definitely lower my electric bill.

This film was fairly easy to install. I would recommend a second person, although I did it myself. If you have large windows or doors you may need help. I appreciate that all the tools needed came with the product! The appearance is not terrible, but for some reason I could not get every bubble out even after squeegying over several times! It was a bit difficult to hold up the film and apply it and pull the protective covering off. Hence the second person may be needed. Visibility wise you can see well through the film. It gives a great tint. The room i installed this in cooled down considerably after installing. Thickness is standard i suppose for this material. It was really easy to cut using the small blade provided. Not sure how well or how long it will last but for now it works great!

Ya not so easy to install. The bubbles are sooooo hard to smooth out. Definitely a two man job. So in order to get the bubbles out of the corner, you have to pull the film off of the window.And then when you're putting it back on the window, when it's clinging, you have to be smoothing it and reclinging it to the window at the same time, otherwise you cannot just put it on, and then think you're gonna smooth the bubbles out, because my husband's been doing one corner for ten minutes.And it doesn't want to smooth out.This is not as easy as we thought it was gonna be.The video that it shows the description on how to install it.It must be AI because it's not real. It keeps drying out really fast.You have to continuously spray spray spray spray spray, smooth spray smooth.It is monotonous, and it gives you pain and cramps in your arms. But the blackout feature looks pretty good

Item is just as described after fast shipping. I was excited to apply this on my windows. It went on very smooth and I really liked how much darker it made my bedroom.

it works great for blocking the light. almost too well honestly. it’s quite dark so i left removed the top window film. (it does not block the glare of the sun shining in your window, so if that’s what you want try something different.) my problem comes with the installation process. i’ve worked with window film before and got far better results. i attribute this to the “film” being a sticker. it stuck to everything, and cutting and maneuvering it was near impossible, even though the window and film was wet before installation. it made a huge mess all over because of how much i had to spray to be able to move things. had to pull the film off the window to move it seconds after attaching it. that’s when i first noticed the residue.. now, they’ve been installed since early October 2024. the ones i’ve had in the past were installed for over 2 years and left no residue behind. these have a clear sticky residue (exactly like sticker residue) and it is STUCK to the window. even goo gone seems to not get it melted away. i’m a bit frustrated because it was supposed to be no damage, but in order to get rid of this mess i’ve got to sit here and scrape it off. over all, it looks okay on the window if you know how to install it, but removal and installation made me question my sanity.. might be worth it to consider another product if these things bother you or you plan to move soon (apartment life) quality of the pictures showing residue isn’t great because it’s hard to focus on clear residue but you can see it if you look close.

As indicated in the instruction, the more water the better. Then installation is pretty straightforward. It does reduce light and heat noticeably as promised.

Was hoping to avoid any and all adhesive residue on the windows, this won't work well for windows as it still lets in a lot of light. We were however able to make use of it for dimming a night light slightly.

Junk product. Really poor quality. Should be a $1 or $2 for the quality. Does not adhere well to the window.
