Fiskars 30" Forged Garden Bypass Loppers, 2" Cut Capacity Tree Trimmer

I use these all the time to maintain my trees. I have the 2-in one and it works perfect for my treat the blade thickness is amazing the quality is great.

The Fiskars Forged Loppers work really well. Trimming palm tree and fruit tree branches has never been easier for me. I selected this lopper style because of the simple design with minimal moving parts (fewer parts to break). The replaceable blade was also a really nice feature that I haven’t had to use yet, but I’m sure after a few years, a quick blade change will be necessary. The 30-inch handle length has been very handy when reaching higher on fruit trees, or trimming palm branches with long thorns. Now I can cut the palm branches without being jabbed by the long thorns on some of the palms. Overall, these seem very durable, sharp, and easily cut through branches with minimal force due to the length of the lopper arm and sharp blade.

These pruners work well and this is my second pair. I have several properties with lots of trees that require pruning. I bought the second to have at my other property. My first pruners are over ten years old and have held up well. I may replace the cutting edge in a year or two. The new pair work better than the old and I cut through limbs larger than I should thus the need for shoulder surgery. These pruners are strong and well built.

First let me say my go to loppers are felco but I wanted something middle of the road that could reach a little farther and cut a little bigger branch and that didn't cost the 100 plus that the felco does. The fiskars are very up to the big stuff, seem to stay sharp and have good leverage. It will stay in my tool set. They are heavy, do not do a good job with small branches. I need to prune apple and Christmas trees. Branches run big to small. I am finding myself tolerating the ragged cuts on the smaller branches. The loppers tend to loosen and need to be tightened occasionally. They are not designed to lock the adjustment and if tightened to much become difficult to use. For the price they are a solid 4. They certainly do the job on the big stuff I.e. Up to 2".

If you do a lot of 'lopping', you really need more than one type. These are very well built and will usually cut green wood up to 3/4" very easily. For bigger diameter and dried wood you will need the Fiskars Power Gear. With the Power Gear you need to be able to open the handles up to almost 180 degrees for larger wood, which is their downside because you sometimes can't get them open that much in some situations, plus that is a lot of extra arm movement if you're doing a lot of lopping. This is where these loppers shine, as you can latch onto branches without opening them very much at all. Less movement, less work. Strong sharp blades and well built. Get both, be happy.

Good, well made but heavier than I expected.

Gave this as a wedding shower gift (the bride's registry requested some garden tools). This was a great size; longer than mine. I almost kept it! Fiskar tools are all I buy. Quality is excellent

These seem to be very sturdy and do the job, but they are very heavy making them difficult to use after a very short time.
