Well made and works great. But like others have said there is a lot of black grease on the chain. First thing I did was remove some of the excess grease with an old towel. Then I still wore cloth gloves when using the hoist. It operates very smoothly and got the job done.

This little chain hoist gets the job done for light duty jobs. It has light weight chains which make it want to "hang up" if you are not smooth with your pulling. You have to jerk it in the opposite direction to free it up and then is operates just fine. Once you get the hang of the pull it likes, it lifts without hanging up. My other chain hoist is also a light duty model, but has slightly larger chain links and does not hang up at all. I probably would not have known any different if I did not already own a hoist very similar. All that said, it does do what it is supposed to do and having the second hoist has come in very handy.

This works great! I used it to move hot water heaters up and down from my attic. This helped my water heater installation go 100 times faster and easier. The only downside is how oily the chains are, I would recommend you wear gloves at all times when using this.

I have a workshop that is 14 by 40 feet. I decided that the best way to transfer heavy, bulky objects from one end of the shop to the other was overhead. I have a large workbench in the middle of my shop so it is hard to get around the sides of the bench. I used a garage door roller track and made a carriage using garage door rollers. I first got a rope block and tackle system, but it didn't work very well because while it was rated for enough weight, it didn't have enough mechanical advantage and was hard to use. This chain hoist is perfect! It's about the same size as the block and tackle but it handles more weight and has a lot of mechanical advantage, so it is easy to use. The chain that is used to lift the load is a continuous loop so there's no excess chain to get in the way. If you need a hoist, don;t bother with a rope-based system. This chain hoist is a really good piece of equipment at a good price!

Worked smoothly and easily lifted the small loads we have put it through so far. The chain is oily but at least it’s not rusty! Feels well built and does exactly what we need just be prepared to either wipe down the chain, wear gloves, or avoid the hoist chain because it does make a mess at first.

Haven’t used yet but appears to be good quality. Beats using a come along for hoisting heavy fifth wheel hitches out of my pickup

Works great, just used it to move a 600 lb compressor across my shop. Lifted it with ease.

Bought this to change and engine in my garage and it works perfectly. Smooth operation, well built, and feels like it will last for a while. Not super heavy duty, but gets the job done and it's by far the best deal out there. As others indicated the chain is very greasy, but this is a good thing!

My engine hoist could not get the engine in far enough to the correct position. We positioned the chain hoist to carry the load and get It Dropped in just right. It was quick to set up out of the box and worked flawlessly. I can see myself getting sing this again for different applications.

This is a good chain hoist at a great price point. I received next day delivery. It did the job I needed it for.

Wish I had bought this years ago. Use it to hoist up the front end of my Zero turn mower. So easy to change out blades now. Was lifting the mower and putting block of wood under it and the trying to slide 1 arm under to remove/replace blades. Now slide right underneath and have both hands available. So much easier. I'm sure I'll find more uses for this with ATVs etc.
