The top of 113 looks pretty white in the sample photo, the canned image looks pretty balanced. How representative is the photo? How dark is this?

This is NOT a dark blue at all. In fact...it is more of a light denim blue. I wish I could attach a photo for you & show you what it looks like in reality. It does photo really well though!! Depending on your lighting will in fact determine the outcome of color. I am glad I purchased it. But if you are hoping for a DARK blue....well then this may not be for you.

has anyone washed these? I know it says you can wash in warm water, but I wanted to know if it loses any color. Also, how does it fair in the drier?

I have never washed it as it hasn't gotten dirty. I have however put it in the dryer. I did not use extreme high heat, but in the middle so to speak. Please note that the color of the background you get does not look EXACTLY this blue. The one I ordered was a very light blue. Like SKY blue.

will the sleeve fit on a 1" diameter rod ?

I think mine has a 4 inch(ish) sleve. Yes an 1" rod will fit.

Can I Buy this one for 10x20 ft?

You may have to contact Amazon or Kate for this answer. I have sometimes used a second smaller backdrop as a floor covering and the larger 10' wide as the backdrop. Many backdrops are available in different sizes and it sometimes helps to have a second smaller backdrop to use on the floor. It's easier to wash the smaller size too.
