I purchased this to teach myself to play Bass guitar. I'm now playing at my local church. I've been playing for 9 weeks, 6 of which have been in front of the congregation. You'll learn the very basic techniques to get you started, the rest is up to you and your own dedication to the art. It's great for beginners.

pretty good on basics. but the text print is annoyingly faint and small. there is lots of room on the pages so there is no excuse.

Self teaching to play my bass.the manual very easy to understand.

I just started playing the bass about three months ago on my own. I have been through the book 2 times., I knew some guitar ahead of time as well as a little bit of music. There were some things that I picked up in the book that were very helpful. I think it is a good starting book.

I bought this as a learning aid.

Such a great starting off book. I played music a bit 25 plus years ago and have done nothing since. The book just flows with no music reading needed at all, but it throws snippets in which are great to get a taste. So good to use what you learn for progressing further into playing bass and learning to read music in the future if that's what you fancy. I've really enjoyed it. It isn't overwhelming. I got some other books that go from 0-60 and left me overwhelmed. This is a great book. Learning bass is obviously difficult but this book is as accessable as you'll get.
