A guy's take on A Christmas Kiss.
I'm a guy, and basically this is a movie made for women, a so-called "chick flick", and so much so that occasionally a Katy Perry-type song spontaneously burst out of nowhere. But I love sweet romances regardless of what my tastes are supposed to be and this is not only sweet but well done. Made for TV in 2011, it's acted by good television actors who know how to work with the medium (like pacing that requires frequent pauses for commercials). As these types of movies go, this is the plot of the Mismatched Couples. In this case only three people are involved, two of them already a couple and a third who is currently free and a perfect match for one of the members of the mismatched couple if it wasn't already too late. Wendy Walton (Laura Breckenridge) is a young designer and interior decorator who has apprenticed herself to prestigious Boston designer Priscilla Hall (Elizabeth Rohm), who can introduce her to many clients or sink her career. Adam Hughes (Brendan Fehr) is her wealthy philanthropist boyfriend who she is absolutely determined will propose to her before Christmas. We know how this will all end, which is why I'm not adding any spoiler alerts; the question is how will it get there. With A Christmas Kiss it gets there with lots of fun, misunderstandings and laughs along the way to its sweet ending. It's really cute how they manage to have Wendy and adam have that first kiss on the elevator and yet have him not recognize her not long after. Priscilla is not only a demanding boss but also an underhanded one an one insecure enough to lie and cajole to get her way. The film is a comedy at heart, but also full of Christmas warmth. It's well made too, with a good budget to back up its plot and characters. If you like romances, this is a good one for the holidays.Guys: Give it a chance.

great fun to watch!
One of the few Christmas films that one could truly watch anytime of year. Well written, and the acting was spot on. Not overdone or heavy handed acting, just natural and heart warming. I lived the scenes where we see split screen of the 2 clueless lovebirds in their own beds at same time. Hysterical to see them both doing the same thing, yet having no clue this is the case. A sweet love story I look forward to watching many times no matter what time of year. I loved the young actress who played the main female lead. The one who pines for the boyfriend of her boss. I look forward to seeing her in many other projects. Brendan Fehr I have adored since Roswell. I find I enjoy most projects he participates in. I must say I enjoyed seeing him in this old fashioned live story. Ironically felt like a Victorian live story but in modern times as both seemed clueless to their true feelings. Yet the audience could see them pulled closer together even if everything possible was thrown in their paths as romantic hurdles. We find ourselves really cheering them on. At the same time, really hoping the main characters vapid and annoying boss (played by the delightful Elizabeth Rohm ) gets her true come uppance. Fun movie filled with love, laughter, friendship and much more. I highly recommend watching this. It is now part of my favorite Christmas movie collection. Even better is its also part of my favorite subsection of Christmas films that are so good I can watch any time of year (like "season of miracles" by Hallmark with Carla Cugino and actor from 'ghost whisperer' who played Jennifer love Hewitt's husband).

Most Romantic Christmas Movie Ever
I am a huge fan of romantic movies and christmas movies, so when the two are combined I'm in heaven. The title of this movie captured my attention, and the DVD cover is stunning - when I read what it was about, I had high expectations. It didn't disappoint. The two leads Wendy and Adam, played by Laura Breckenridge and Brendan Fehr, are so charming, and I really believed them in their roles. I felt the bond between them developing as they got to know each other, and I liked how they really listened to each other. I genuinely believed in their love. Of course no movie would be complete without a villian, and Elisabeth Rohm as Wendy's cruel, manipulative boss, who wanted Adam for herself, was perfect in her role. She will be the character you love to hate. The whole movie was also visually stunning, and the music was so beautiful. It's a shame there is no soundtrack for this movie. If you love clean, romantic movies filled with warmth and charm, then I highly recommend this. It will definitely be a favorite I will watch every christmas from now on.

If you're into sappy, ridiculously bad Christmas romance movies -- like I am
A solid choice if you're into bad movies.I enjoy cheesy, predictable, ridiculous holiday movies. This is one of those. If you're looking for an actual quality film, you can move along to something else. The cinematography is surprisingly poor, even for a made-for-tv style movie. But the acting is slightly above par. The music is hilariously kitsch. And the script is simple in the way that makes bad movies comforting in my opinion. The basic story is a retelling of Cinderella. The gal is overworked and underappreciated. Spoiler Alert if you haven't seen the first 5 mins of the movie/or can't see what's coming even if it's as obvious as a 757 in a baseball field: She shares a kiss with a mysterious stranger, who doesn't recognize her later when fate brings them back together. The guy doesn't notice that his girlfriend is a jerk, overlooks the gem in front of him, etc. You know this story already from the other hundred movies that have riffed on it, yeah? And, of course, the guy is just looking for a woman who understands who he is on the inside. Fear not: it all works out in the end, for everyone besides the evil stepmot - er, mean boss lady. Not the best of the bad holiday movies, but I enjoyed it enough.

Predicatable but charming
***read the newspaper announcement at the end of the movie*** I love this movie even though I am not a fan of the made for TV Xmas genre. But it's insane how much I love this movie!!! So much so, I bought a copy to watch year round. Yes, no true surprises because we all know how it will end. But the road there is so enjoyable. This kind of made for TV movie is a dime a dozen yet A Christmas Kiss has sparkle. The look of the movie is great from the costumes to the sets and the acting, for the most part, is very believable. I really dug the heroine's roommates. The three young ladies seemed so authentic as friends. And the gorgeous Elizabeth Rohm is so very Cruella DeVille or should I say Priscilla DeVille? She should do straight up comedy. Laura Breckenridge, adorable. What can I say? I felt a flutter. I felt a spark. And I'm enjoying seeing the friends in other works.

Expect the unexpected
This is such a sweet movie of good vs bad, and that undeniable feeling of when you know- you know. Not a sappy love story but definitely a love story influenced by the power of Christmas. I watch it every chance I get.
