Love this.
Our guinea pig loves this hay. Itโs almost dust free which I love. Itโs nice and coarse so I also use it for enrichment to hide flower petals and treats in.

Love Oxbow
The quality of this hay seemed great. I trust Oxbow products for my chinchilla, my chinchilla just didn't prefer it. I ended up making some treats out of it and my chinchilla enjoys it that way! I also blend it with some other hay varieties and he will sometimes eat it that way.

My picky piggies didn't like it
Really nice hay, smells lovely, and arrived fresh. Unfortunately, our piggies decided it was beneath them and just threw it around the cage. We tried several times over the course of a few weeks to trick them into eating it over timothy hay, but to no avail. We ended up throwing it away, which was doubly unfortunate since you get a pretty small bag for the price. At least we know our boys are a cheap date! Haha I'm leaving 5 stars anyway because my pigs' palates are not the manufacturer's problem. Otherwise, the product is exactly as described, premium oat hay (This would be the Godiva chocolate in a world of Hershey's), and I'm sure the other reviews will be much more helpful than this one.

Good quality oat hay!
I've been buying this for my piggies for years. They love it, it's not super expensive, and has had consistently good quality. I wish it came in larger, more economical sizes but will continue to buy regardless. They've been happy and healthy the entire time they've had this hay. It looks relatively fresh as well.

Rumpus the Rabbitโs Favorite
Our Rumpus is a hay and fresh veg bunny only (no kibble, per vetโs advice) so getting lots of nutritious hay is important. Heโs a picky eater but loves, loves the Oxbow oat hay. After calcium in his urine caused by alfalfa hay when he was a baby we had to find another delicious hay and Oxbow oat is it! I tried the Small Pet Select oat hay and he wouldnโt eat it - it was more straw-like and without the oat blooms. I also had this happen with 2 bags of Oxbow Oat Hay ordered at the same time from Amazon, which also had some brown, old looking pieces in it too. Over 20+ bags of Oxbow only having 2 poor quality bags is pretty good. I just used them for litter box material.

Stubborn bunny approved
My 12 yr old, 3 lb, mini Rex rabbit started to have some GI stasis and has had weight loss recently. He seems to have lost interest in his regular Timothy hay. He's always been stubborn and his golden years haven't made him any more pliant. I figured giving him some variation might help. He has arthritis in his jaw and this hay is heartier and crunchiest of the hay varieties I paused for a moment before buying it. But, I figured since he's on pain meds for the arthritis the oat hay might be different enough from the Timothy to get him back to eating as he should. When I opened I could tell there was a difference in the aroma and visibly different textures. I figured if I could smell and see a difference then probably my elderbun could smell, see and most importantly taste a difference as well. It seems he could, and fortunately it was one he liked! I put a good amount on top of his Timothy hay that was in his cage and he gobbled it up. Over time, I mixed it in with fresh Timothy and he's back to his regular diet. I will probably buy this again intermittently just to keep giving him variety since he needs to gain some serious weight.
