Jim Thompson: The Thai Silk Sketchbook

This book portrays Thompson's world with annotated sketches and watercolors, and explores his life story and his storied home, now a museum, the history of silk, sericulture and silk making, and the company he established.

This book is beautifully illustrated and is filled with interesting information about Jim Thompson and the role he played in promoting the Thai silk industry. It also includes basic information about the production of silk. It's extra meaningful to me as I visited the Jim Thompson museum in Bangkok.

A great history of Jim Thompson and his work to reignite the silk industry in Thailand. The book is beautifully made.

Regretted not buying this whilst at the Jim Thompson house in Bangkok. Now very pleased to have bought a used copy in very good condition on my return home. A lovely souvenir of our holiday which brings together my love of textiles and appreciation of beautiful books. The book tells the story of Jim Thompson's life, the production and weaving of silk and how Jim Thompson helped the Thai weavers to promote their products and sell them all over the world.
