Review After Using for a While
I really like the Rode Wireless GO II Single. It’s compact, easy to pair, and the sound quality is clear and professional. The wireless range is strong, and it gives me freedom to move around while recording without dropouts. The built-in recorder is a great bonus for backup audio. It’s very reliable and convenient for filming.

Simple once you watch the YT video
Exactly what I needed to record lectures using an iPad Pro. There’s not a lot of buttons on the receiver and transmitter. The manual in the box was basic. To get the nitty gritty on these puppies go to YT for tutorials. It’ll save time and frustration when you encounter an unfamiliar feature. The RODE Central app is essential and RODE Capture was perfect for recording videos. I found that using USB adapters kills the monitoring feature on the RX. It has to be direct USB C to USB (A, C or lightning) cable to camera or smart device with HPs plugged into the TRS. You can also monitor using the TX, but I use that TRS i/o for a lapel mic. TX/ RX was paired out of the box, but needed firmware update to work with RODE Central. One I got it going, signal was five by five. The gain needed a bit of tweaking - kept PAD off and zeroed gain for initial soundcheck. Apparently the sweet spot is -6 dB on the unit. I’m really happy with this wireless digital mic. Great price, great sound, great software, great build quality. Buy it.

RIsky purchase. I wouldn't buy RODE again.
I purchased this product months ago. Did my research, and got the wires I would need. First, the recordings were terrible and I couldn't figure out the reason. I kept using the App and not getting a connection to the receiver. The transmitter seemed to connect and update. Finally, with new cords, I had hope, that the receiver would connect to the app and I'd be able to work with the recording quality. Once it connected and started to update, the receiver went black. I've trouble-shooted via the RODE website and have finally, after five long months, given up. I've tried everything I can find and the receiver is just not working at all. I've spent over three hundred dollars, getting wires, and another transmitter. And still haven't been able to make a good quality video. Where I'm inside, a single person, a few feet from my computer camera. People have told me that my recordings were better using airpods or my computer's microphone. But this won't work as I teach movement classes, over the long haul. Truly disappointed in RODE product and how unnecessarily complex it has been to work with what should be fairly simple. Don't buy it. If you buy it from here, you have no ability to get RODE to work out issues and by the time you figure out what is happening, the window to return to this seller will likely have passed.

Edit: Battery is fine
Was a one star review, now a four star. The battery was pretty bad but then I updated the firmware and it's fine. Kind of annoying to have to update the product for it to work right, but I'm happy that was the case. Works well, everything's okay. Update your firmware as soon as you get it!

Works perfectly for DSLR! (needs firmware update)
Simply plug both cables/devixes into your pc, and use rode central (software) to update the device, and it works! Features: Adjustable dB levels Mute on receiver, not on transmitter One transmitter One receiver Audio levels manager on receiver 2 fuzzy balls for wind or popping-p's. Pros: Microphone quality/clarity is comparable to a mid-range podcast microphone, works great, but only records on one channel, mono-based recording. Needs post-process to turn into stereo audio. Instantaneously connects to receiver first try. No issues in connecting. Versatility: can be used on any cold/hot shoe adapter, can record on its own. No issues in hot or colder environments. Cons: Is insanely audio-sensitive to rubbing, taps, and drops. (It will pick this up!!!) Battery can have issues if not used properly (heavily used) although the issue disappeared when I updated the firmware on the receiver and transmitter. So all good now! Does not come included with smartphone adapter/cord. Does not have Bluetooth transmitter included. Overall 9.5/10

Very handy and good device. I am using to record acoustic guitar. The budget is just right compared to reputed brands. Single channel also makes sense for my use case. The background noise is very much on check. Not much of settings etc, just the required. For iPhone with lighting connection one will required SC7 cable and lighting to 3.5mm cable. For mobile content creation it’s the best single channel wireless no BS mic. No cables no setup time. Connect and record. The small screen shows battery levels and mic level. Enough to see the cut off levels.

Like many, I was unable to charge / turn on the rode mic. After some frustration and research, learned this is a common issue with setup, but it's very easy to fix. Here's what you have to do: 1 - On your laptop, download and install: Rode Central — it's available on the Rode website 2 - Run the software, and plug your rode gear into your laptop (USB C to USB A). 3 - I'll the top left of window, click settings, and then "Factory Reset" 4 - Follow the instructions to factory reset both pieces (trasmitter and receiver). Voila, the factory reset has brought the firmware is up to date. You will now be able to charge and turn on your Rode devices. Hope this helps.
