I came so close to sending this back. I had previously bought a 50-foot HDMI cable, but it was too thick to tack up near the ceiling (and I'm not up to running it under the floor). This one is the right thickness for tacking but when I plugged it in, it did not work. After some troubleshooting, I was about to start the return process when I went back to the item here on the Amazon store. It had a very high rating, which suggested a low failure rate. I read the reviews and found one that underscored that this is a UNIDIRECTIONAL cable. Plug it in wrong, and you get nothing. Plug it in right and it works. I had a 50% chance at lucking into it working out of the box. The cable does have labels at the ends if you look closely. There should be a large message on the box and/or an insert, as this detail is easily missed (and it's the first cable I've ever had that was unidirectional - I didn't even know that was a thing). So far, it works great - much better than the wireless HDMI gizmo I tried and sent back (even at low settings, it was super laggy). Of course, wired will always be better than wireless.

Only a few years ago, this type of cable was five times this price. This is a fiber optic cable (no copper wires). The end plugs contains active electronics (modems) which are powered from the source and receiving electronics (the HDMI plug has 5-volt power). There is, probably, a single strand of plastic multimode fiber. I purchased the 50-foot version to connect my AV receiver to my Epson Projector. The cable replaced a 50-foot copper cable that cost me $75.00 eight years ago, was 3/4 inch in diameter, weighed 10 lbs and didn't have nearly as good a signal This gave me a perfect UHD 4K picture. You really don't want to bend the cable as shown in one of the photos. The plastic fiber can crack. There is a source and receiver end, very clearly stated in the description and marked on the plugs, so there's really no excuse for posting a 1-star review because you can't figure this out.

I needed 50 feet of cable for a production where I was using a digital projector and PA system for presentation. This cable arrived and was nicely packaged! The cable is surprisingly small in diameter and is covered in a woven looking fabric. I do wonder how long this cable will hold up but does not feel flimsy. One thing to keep in mind is that this cable is directional so it is important that you hook up correctly. I believe that one end is labeled source and the other video or similar and IF you hook up backwards you will not receive signal at your projector. Don't ask me how I know this but just make sure before you route 50 feet of cable in the rafters that you have the correct cable ends attached at the PC and the projector. Great little cable that works as advertised!

It may not be able to drive my display at over 1080p 80Hz, but I do not really need that as it's for my server across the room. It is nice how thin and flexible it is.

Decent price for a cable that could actually go all the way to my projector from my amplifier. The picture quality is great; it works just as I expect it to, with HDR, 4k @ 60hz, and so on. When my devices are hooked up to the amp and rely on the cable just for video, all is well. Unfortunately, when I plug something directly into the projector and use the back-channel for audio via ARC, it starts to cut out. This makes movie viewing a poor experience at times, and it seems to be bandwidth-related. Either way, I can't recommend it for ARC use.
