American Educational 7-400-2 Distilling Apparatus, Includes Liebig Condenser, Kjeldahl Bulb, Flasks, and Supports

Excellent kit for home school and private tutorial. Picture of item not quite accurate. We had to adjust the height of the collecting flask so that the tip of the Liebig condenser could be closer to the opening of the flask.

this is definitely B stock... but for the price it is a steal!it needs work, but if you bought these components piecemeal you would pay two or three times as much...(for the same Chinese crap)buy it because it is cheap and expect to buy upgrade parts.if you are not handy, this set is not for you!buy another but expect to pay much much much much more.(i was going to send mine back, but will buy another... stand and buret are awesome!)flasks are Bomex...thin but no flaws.treat your glass well...should stand upthe burner stand is crap...i use a hotplate...nice extra if i need it.and a ceramic! =]the Kjeldahl Bulb assembly...THIS IS THIS SETS WEAKEST LINK!broke in my hand adjusting anglestoppers were crudey drilled hard black rubber.my Liebig Condenser had a minor crack on one of the inlet/outletsdid not affect functionality...they could have included hoses for the condenser and bumped the price up a bit.save me a trip to the hardware store!IF YOU EXPECT TO GET THE SET AS PICTURED...

Product was delivered missing the 50mm diameter kjeldahl ball. I had to return the entirr package and wait for a replacement.I received the replacement without the flask tripod. I need thos product now so I can not rrturn the item and I will just have to rig somethimg to hold the boiling flask.Two shipments and both times items where missing from the package.I would rate zero stars if i could. Not happy AT ALL.

Used it for the first time. The stand does not match. I need to clip the condenser near the top of the pole. I needed to life up my burner and flask to match. I am looking for a new setup for the boiling flask. Other then that the blue stoppers are black and white. Everything in the picture arrived in the box not broken. Don't forget butane. I went to lowes and got a 15 dollar smartpond Submersible Pump. Any pump will do as long as the outer diameter is 3/8ths its good. It was more then enough with a cold bucket of water for 3 hours. I bought this for my kids to preform some experiments. We haven't used it yet because I need the connection tubes for the water. But we have it set up and ready to go.

I received the items about one month after ordering, which is pretty good for sending large, fragile items to Hawaii (Free shipping across the ocean!). Easily assembled, though my one gripe is the lack of tubing. I have to research what size diameter rubber tubing then go out and purchase it on my own. Not too convenient, but will be worth it when I have my own rose oil and other distillates.

This product arrived missing the condensor unit. I read the reviews and saw that another person had problems with missing parts, but had hoped this was a rare event. Apparently not. It was not worth my time or energy to return the unit, so now I have a very expensive flask and stand set.
