Hamilton Beach 4 Slice Countertop Toaster Oven with 5 Cooking Modes

I love this toaster oven...it is the perfect size as it is fairly compact and sits on my countertop without looking like a huge eyesore. It toasts well, heats items quickly, and is easy to clean. The tray for heating items should be covered with tin foil to keep it clean.

I am really happy with this toaster!) I bought it 3 months ago, and finally writing a review. Yes, as other people say, on a first use it burned my bread 😄🤦‍♀️ but I'm telling you that it's actually very easy to get use to this toaster! It takes only few times to get use to it and your bread won't ever get burned again. My husband and I using it now for 3 months almost every single morning we also heat pizzas in it and other food and nothing getting burned anymore, so yes it takes a few times to get use to it, but as soon as you do this toaster gonna be doing a great job)). It has a lot of settings which is pretty good for such small toaster. And what I like the most about it is that it's very small !! and super cute! For me its important because I have a tiny Brooklyn kitchen, so I finally got rid of a big toaster that I had before, and I'm telling you guys, this baby takes so much less space and it looks very cute too! Overall I am very happy!)

This is a basic Toaster Oven - sized at "4 slice" so it has a small footprint, unlike the "6 slice" which are significantly larger. No frills, low cost, and it works. The GOOD: I like the way they put the drip pan under the rack. It slides in/out when roasting or broiling. Saves having to have a separate drip pan/rack for roasting and broiling - means another 1" or so of clearance inside oven. Great design idea. I thought the BAGEL option would be useless, but it has turned out to be a good feature. Basically, anything which you want toasted on one side and just warmed on the other (bagels, English muffins, croissants, sandwich rolls, etc.) you put the food on the rack in the upper level cut-side-up and use the BAGEL setting. Works well. Anything you want toasted on both sides - like bread - use the lower rack setting and the TOAST option. Kudos for providing something I didn't care about but found very helpful. The slide out crumb tray is another plus. You don't have to turn the unit on its back and tilt out the tray like some others and fish around inside where live wires are located. It heats fast - appears to have a quartz element instead of the usual wire element and that's good. The "COULD BE BETTER" items - I don't like the mechanical timer. But in fairness, it works and the results appear to be repeatable if you use the pictograms on the face of the unit. But in this day and age, a digital timer would have been preferred, together with a digital temperature readout. Others complain about the tick-tick-tick on the timer, but I didn't find that objectionable. It's not really that loud. Many of the toaster ovens have only a 30 minute timer, like this one. I think that's too little - a basic meatloaf takes about an hour. Should have a 60 minute timer. It's hard to read the information next to the dials. The dials are large (easy to grab and turn) but get in the way of reading the settings. H-B has another toaster oven at the same price with what appear to be better black plastic knobs, but different features. Why two designs of knobs? The door slams shut. It would be nice if it were damped somehow. It is bright with polished stainless (so they say) steel outer material. Stands out in the kitchen. I'd like something a bit less visible, perhaps black, or perhaps a brushed metal, or black stainless steel. I know, that's expensive, but the option even at a higher price would be nice. The VERDICT: Overall, this is a sturdy reliable oven (so far), at a great price. There don't appear to be many 4-slice toaster ovens so this is a good choice, despite the things I'd like to see different. It has a small footprint and fits where the bigger ones wouldn't. My criticisms are minor - this thing does the job and doesn't cost a huge amount. Don't be put off by the confusion on where the rack has to be - you'll get used to the options after a few uses. Some reviewers complained about cord length. We didn't find that an issue, although the cord is short. High-amperage heating appliances should not have long cords. It's a safety issue. And by the way - be sure you follow their recommendations and run the unit at high temp for 10 minutes before you put food in, to burn off any residual oils used in manufacture. After that, there is no odor from the oven.

I am thrilled with this item. I bought it to replace an aged toaster, thinking I might be able to save money on my electric bill doing stuff like heating up pizza in this instead of in the oven. So I've done my first pizza and I'm delighted--it took it only 8 minutes for 2 slices, and the crust wasn't soggy either. Took 20 minutes in the oven and floppy pizza. Yuck. Does my morning toast too. Not thrilled with the steak broil I did in it, but maybe I need more practice. It cleans up like a breeze, which surprised me. I will also mention this is a small appliance, and it just fits on my counter next to my West Bend single serve coffeemaker. Most of them wouldn't have, and this is the only space I've got left in my teeny apartment kitchen. Very glad I got this :)

Wonderful item especially on a really hot day and you don't want to use a oven. Excellent for making thongs in that usually you would put in an oven. Its toasting features are great 9to use also.

EDIT: This has happened several times for me (my error) - If you set the timer, remember to put the food in if you want to eat. The timer ticks without it being plugged in - a design flaw. It's Just OK - Pretty Basic - toasts a little unevenly and has to be watched - only parts toast and I have to use tongs, potholders to open midway toasting to try to get it evenly toasted by adjusting pieces - since there are only 2 heating elements. Also have to remember to adjust temp from a previous setting to the 450 for toasting along with the button. Just basic dials which I wanted - all I do is reheat things or bake a small casserole or reheat. The unit outside gets hot. Had a previous toaster oven years ago which lasted awhile. Don't know how long this one will last. Appearance-wise and size-wise it's ok without a huge footprint. The crumb tray if fairly ok to remove. Have not tried the broiler. Wait awhile to cool down to clean. Two racks are good. Purchased a separate 9x7 stainless baking dish as the aluminum one that came with the product seemed flimsy. Other than that it's Pretty basic.

The toaster keeps going off prior to the toast being brown. Evidentally the thermostat automatically turns it off then it comes back on. Meanwhile your toast is drying out instead of turning brown. Would never buy again.

Great substitute for a large oven. Bakes, broils. Easy to use. The inside is tall enough to cook a French bread pizza with lots of toppings without them sticking to the top of the oven. Perfect for two people meals. Great value. Easy to clean.

I was aware before decide purchasing this toast oven that I m only need it to toast bred , bagels , others small meals . not for heavy works like baking large meals , for that I use the stove oven . the product itself is very pretty , shine , , charm . it feels well in any counter . I do recommend it if you are looking for a toaster oven and save in buy-in a toaster counter only , this toast oven are always handy and helpful in any kitchen home . UPDATE. I PURCHASED A SEC UNIT FOR A FAMILY MEMBER IT WAS DELIVERY TODAY VERY DISAPPOINTED THE UNIT LOOKS USED HAVE TO RETURNED WHAT A SHAME

No issues with this oven, still humming along great!

This is a fantastic little toaster. Built well and good looking. I purchased it to toast things like buns, homemade bread and anything else that would end up being thicker than something a normal toaster would handle. I gave it 4 stars only because of the way it needs to be powered down. The on off timer is spring operated and the unit needs to be unplugged in order to power down. If you happen to put too much time on the timer the elements will stay on until the unit powers down. Once you get used to that it's a great machine and I'm glad I bought it.
