4 stars only because it is very functional and the replacement had no issue.
My first unit had the the same issue as the two Behringer CONTROL2USB I ordered before this.I was not going to try third CONTROL2USB and instead of it ordered Behringer Studio L.To my surprise I had identical issue with the headphone potentiometer as with as I did with CONTROL2USB.Both headphone knobs have a noticeable step of gain jump. This happens at the low volume knob location only, and on both headphone outputs. When increasing volume by a bit past it makes the left channel show up and then the other ones kicks in a bit after that. Past that point the volumes on both channels are even.I have my headphones volume down low often enough that this bothered me and I ordered a replacement. Lucky for me replacement did not have this issue. It seems Behringer had a problem with a batch of potentiometers that seemed to have been used at least in these two products I purchased.Until recently, I had no issues with Behringer products but my last three of their items I ordered had issues so I am wondering what is going on with Behringer quality control. I know they had problems way in the past but prior to these latest purchases I had no issues with their products ordered either through Amazon or other merchants.Other than that I like the controller as it is small enough and it solved 2 sets of monitors and multiple source dilemma. It also serves as headphone amplifier and USB audio interface, so it is kind of three products in one.So far second copy works as expected and time will tell if it will hold up.You could do similar setup with a mixer but most that have two monitor outputs and two headphone outputs are much bigger in size and usually not much cheaper. So if you are short on space on your desk, as I am, this seems like a good solution.

Stolen Blueprints From Mackie!
I need a new audio interface but when I first looked at the Studio L, I was thinking, 'why does it look familiar?'. Then after about ten seconds, I realized this has the exact same layout, controls and functions as the Mackie Big Knob Studio; the buttons and knobs are just different. I own a Big Knob Studio so that's why it would look familiar. Now, I have some Behringer gear, and I've always been happy with their products, but I'm not ready to believe this product can compete with the Mackie product it's based heavily on; I just don't think Behringer does that level of quality. The one-hundred-dollar price difference is both an attractive inducement and a red flag. Sometimes, you get what you pay for with gear like this.Another drawback is I can't find any information indicating this device comes with a dedicated ASIO driver for the audio interface. That forces the use of something like ASIO4ALL, which is just too dated and quirky for serious use, in my opinion. All that said, I'll wait until a few more reviews are posted, and I MAY give it a shot.
