Best add-on for your Super NES
Works great. Tried it with the original SNES, the mini SNES and the FC Twin - worked great with all of them. Picture is accurate and the sound is identical to the second revision Genesis but not as good as the first. A minor issue for this kind of convenience. Controllers work great. Everything works great. I built an inline adapter that lets me have both the SNES and RetroGen connected at the same time so I don't have to switch connectors around on the TV, but it still isn't an inconvenience in the first place.I tested a number of games including PAL games like Castlevania Bloodlines and they all work great. This is where the region select switch comes in handy. I did not have a copy of Virtua Racing to try, but my understanding is that it may not work. This adapter gives you 99% of the functionality of a Genesis system. You can't go wrong with it.

Works but not 100% compatible with titles
I Use it with a retro bit II SNES emulator. The tiny jack, on the side of the cartridge, to RCA cables that go into the TV a little weird. Additionally, I have found that not all TV's work correctly with the video output. The sound is mono and sounds kind of scratchy to me.The big titles seem to work good, particularly the Sega titles, but a good portion of titles either don't function or are glitchy. I think I would have bought a used console in RETROspect. It's not a bad price or a bad deal, considering that 90% of the cartridges at my local game store are less than 5 dollars.

Decent Adapter on a Budget.
It took a couple tries to get a good one. The first one I picked up had a ground hum in the audio, and the second was damaged, or at least compromised in shipping (cart slot cracked on insertion). 3rd time is the charm it seems. I only have a handful of Genesis/Megadrive games at the moment, and I picked this up on a whim as an in between while waiting for a real Mega Drive. The video output on this, while composite only, is very crisp. I'm not going to say that it rivals RGB or component, but for composite, it's clean, with very little color bleed. Audio is ok. I haven't noticed any major hang ups there, but my ears aren't as sharp as some. Game compatibility is fair, from what I have to test with. It runs most region games. Zero Wing, Castlevania Bloodlines, Golden Axe 3, Splatterhouse 2, Cyborg Justice, TMNT Hyperstone Heist, Alien Soldier, and Thunder Force 3 all play fine. The only game I currently have that does not run is Zombies Ate My Neighbors. Pretty convenient for something that comes in the size of a cartridge. I'm sure there are other games that don't run, I just don't own them. I've heard this works with the Everdrive, but do not own one to test that out (yet). I'm pretty sure the majority of the A list titles will function. For the cost? I'm pleased with it. It's a convenient way to not have to rotate a console on the playing shelf if I am feeling lazy. It's also a nice way to allow others to play games on less-than-precious hardware. Also, being able to play a number of arcade beat em ups with the SNES controller with Y as attack, and B as jump (and A usually being special) works surprisingly well. It has its upsides. Depending on your locale, and what sort of hardware you are after, this may be cheaper than the OG system. I'll also admit that there is a certain amount of novelty to it. The cost of entry is low though, so it's worth it on a whim.

Fun idea, but not so good in the end.
I have 5 genesis games that I was given as a gift as I enjoy classic games, but didn't have a genesis to play it on. Instead of getting a real genesis or clone console, I thought this might be a fun way of cutting down wires as I already had a super nintendo, but turns out I was wrong. The sonic game was extremely glitchy and just became a green screen at some points and skipped. The next one didn't even load. The other two proceeded to be filled with graphical glitches and I by then lost the motivation to try them out. Also it comes with a additional cable that the TV actually uses for the game, making the super nintendo effectively a controller and power port for the clone console in the cartridge. Get a real genesis or a full clone console instead.

Retro-Bit's RetroGENESIS adapter for SNES - Sega's Secret has been revealed!
I had a Sega Genesis Model 2. I sold the console (not the games) for the Retro-Bit RetroGEN adapter for the SNES. I gotta tell you, for someone who loves both Sega and Nintendo the same, this is a great experience when you put it into your console.I played from Michael Jackson's Moonwalker to Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Most people think this is stupid and not worth the money, but I have always thought of the SNES controller as the better controller for the 16-Bit Era and pressing the B button in Sonic 3 is epic. Other games like Streets of Rage 3 is amazing with me making my Y button the punch button and B the jump. The control scheme is odd though, with A (Genesis) on the Y button, B (on both), and C (Genesis) on the A button, but hey, they couldn't have done anything better than that, and I still like it. Multiplayer is obviously compatable, so when playing Sonic 2 racing mode with an SNES controller is easier than the Genesis controller.Overall, this piece of hardware is worth every cent and must be a gotta-have for SNES gamers who wanna play Genesis games without having to switch playing mode.

Easy to use
Had mine for a few years. It stopped working, but it was worth every penny and was very easy to use.

Great addition to be able to play all of those ...
Works flawlessly. Great addition to be able to play all of those sega Genesis games. It does make it a bit bulky but it's well worth it.
