I was pretty impressed with the paint and it was very easy ...
I first purchased some of the gloss glass paint and the outliner tubes to decorate wine glasses for a project. I was pretty impressed with the paint and it was very easy to use. I painted 5-point flower petals in a different color for each bridesmaid, and used the outliners to paint their names in a script font. Making mistakes with this paint is OKAY! A huge mistake wipes off easily with rubbing alcohol to start fresh, and I recommend doing it this way until you get familiar with the paint. A small mistake can be easily fixed by first letting it air dry for an hour or two. I was able to take a wood toothpick and clean up lines or mistakes and the paint didn't CHIP off, but allowed me to work with it and reveal the glass underneath with no problem. You can actually scrape the paint off at any point before it's oven-cured. The colors are really pretty. The frosted versions are much more opaque than the gloss versions which are a bit more transparent than you would expect. The absolute BEST thing about this glass paint and the main reason I am writing this review and gave it 5 stars: I use my own painted wine glass atleast once a week and it goes right in the dishwasher. I've had it for about 2 years now, and it still looks PERFECT. The longevity of this paint when cured correctly (follow the instructions on the bottle) is simply amazing. I've painted other wine glasses for gifts since my first attempt and I'm very sad that Michael's no longer sells this brand. (Michael's now sells Martha Stewart glass paint and every review I read says that you can scratch that right off with your nail even after curing! EEK!) I would have to try really hard, with a razor blade, to scratch the Pebeo Vitrea paint from my glasses. I'll be buying some more Pebeo Vitrea paint from Amazon to make some more gifts. :)

I used it on ceramic and metal without baking it.
I live in a small apartment with very little work space and I needed something non toxic that would dry quickly so I could use my kitchen on the same day. It wasn't easy to find a paint that would work on an antique Victorian ceramic coat hook. It was a gift and it was white. Not a fan of white things outside of the bathroom. I decided to try Pebeo Vitrea in purple because I read the reviews and a lot of folks use it for ceramic projects. One little bottle was enough for two coats on the rather large hook. I used a craft sponge and I didn't bake it because I'm quite lazy and impatient as well. I wanted to hang up the hook and start using it right away. It dried completely in a couple of hours and it's been used daily in a heavy traffic area with no chipping. It's not the smoothest of surfaces but maybe baking it would change that, I dunno. I like it the way it is. It's a lovely dark purple. I decided to try it once more on a pair of ornate old decorative iron gate panels, not the outdoor kind but something that was made for defining an indoor space, about 38" x 17". I wanted to attach the panels to a basket and a wooden base so I could put it in the foyer to drop the mail in and hang my umbrella on, stash my bag and such. They were cream colored and had a lot of chips, but I like the shabby chic look of them and I didn't want to change that. I used turquoise Pebeo Vitrea that I applied with a sponge in two coats. I used almost two bottles because there was a lot of surface area due to the ornate curls within the panels. I got two coats for each panel from those little bottles. It went on easily and with no fumes or nasty smells, and it dried very quickly. I couldn't have fit these things into my oven if I wanted to, so that's that. They kept the vintage look and I was able to complete the project on the same day. The color was a bit darker than I expected, sort of a dark teal to sea green color and even darker where the old paint was chipped. Beautiful! It feels like the surface will stay true, but even if it chips off it won't be a big deal to repair it with another little dab from the leftovers in the bottom of the bottle. I may try to use this product as directed one day. It's been a lot of fun doing it wrong.

Works as it should.
I used this to color bulbs for an instrument cluster in a classic car. Applied easily. I only used one coat, I imagine you could add others if you wanted it darker. Not sure how it will hold up to the heat of the bulbs. I am hopeful, because it says you can cure it in an oven, when used on stained glass. Also if used on a window it would be subjected to the suns heat.

The perfect product for a picky artist
First let me say that I am SUPER picky about my art and craft products. I demand a lot out of my materials especially my ‘paint’ mediums. I want durability, color-fast-ness, and longevity. I HATE when a product says it does X and it doesn't deliver on that promise. Pebeo Vitrea 160 is everything I want and need in this area of mediums - Dishwasher (and MICROWAVE) safe, Non-toxic, and amazing color/design staying power. I freakin’ LOVE this stuff. And my plain old dishes will never be plain again. Quick note: Do not put it on the interior of your dish ware. I tend to leave an ½ inch from the edges of ‘lip contact’ areas just to be on the safe side. I wanted to create a set of matching mugs and bowls that looked like water-colored marble ( i hope the pic came through.) After achieving the design I wanted, they were baked according to manufacturer's directions and have been consistently Abused since creation. Hand wash, Pffbt, hardly. I don’t have time for all that. My dish set has been through dishwasher hell for over a year now and they still look AMAZING. No chipping, flaking, or fading. They have been ‘nuked’ to death as well. No toxic smells, no flash fires, no nothing but warm/hot beverages or foodstuffs. There is no limit to what can be done with the Vitrea glass paints. All you need is patience and some practice. But this product will not let you down unlike some other products which pretends to be what they are not. Vitrea may seem “pricey” compared to its lesser counterparts but trust me, it will not be a wasted purchase.

Pebeo has definitely fueled my new favorite painting addiction...!
This paint is glorious. Takes a little getting used to, some of the colors are more opaque than others, and mixing them can get a little muddy. But the colors are vibrant, and under typical application/drying/baking the paint itself stands up extremely well! I've a year+ old set of glasses painted with Pebeo that have gone through multiple hot water hand AND machine washings - and look as good as the day they were painted. This (and other) similar sets are definitely the way to start out with the paints - the cheapest price I've found for a decent array of colors that should be a good starting palette for most painters. And this paint goes a long way! After couple of dozen glasses painted, with decent coverage of paint on each - and more than a little wastage of unused paint, I am only down barely a third of even the most used colors! Also I'd definitely recommend the mediums & thinners for watering them down over just using water (despite the paint's water solubility). Possibly it's just a trick I haven't gotten the hang of yet, but the paints much easier to work with the former technique than the latter!

Great product for stained glass but poor delivery experience
Very sad about how this arrived :( when I opened my package it looked like they ripped apart the packaging and just poured it in the Amazon shipping bag. I do love the Pebeo product line. This was my first experience purchasing a pack of paint but I am returning this discovery pack. For $70 I expect the product to be perfect when it arrives. The paint dries quickly when using; highly suggest getting the 160 thinner to have on hand to help with flooding areas and blending colors together! Also it is really helpful to have an airtight paint saver that to help save mixed hues if you need to stop mid project! Pictures of how it arrived and what I’ve made in the past for a wedding signature cocktail sign.

Easy to work with, deep black result
Needing to add some fine detail to stained glass I tried this and the Pebeo marker, both delivering beautifully glossy black. While the marker was handy in use, the paint in it is thinner so it didn't cover as well and the tip is about the width of a magic marker so did not deliver the fine lines I needed. This paint is thick enough to lay down very solid lines with a superfine brush, it won't run. Because I needed very precise detail beyond my drawing skills I used a vinyl stencil with some trial and error. Pulling it off right after painting (within a minute) gave me softer lines, removing it after an hour or so peeled most of the paint off with it, and waiting patiently until it was fully dry the next day gave me crisp detail. I could scrape away any tiny bleeds with the point of a sharp exacto knife. I did make sure I cleaned the glass with rubbing alcohol before painting, and in a test where I etched the glass first the rough surface seemed to provide better grip. I like that you can clean your brushes with just water and bake this in a home oven to make it permanent.

This glass paint will elevate your stained glass projects
This PEBEO Vitrea 160 Glass Paint is a real game-changer for stained glass projects! It's easy to use, dries quickly, and fires beautifully in a domestic oven. One of the biggest advantages is how easy it is to clean up. If I make a mistake, it washes right off before it dries. This gives me the freedom to experiment and create without worrying about permanent errors. The paint itself is incredibly durable, creating a glossy, vibrant finish that truly elevates my stained glass projects. However, I do need to be patient, as it requires a full 24 hours to dry before firing in the oven. Overall, this is a fantastic glass paint that I highly recommend to anyone who wants to add a touch of colour and shine to their stained glass projects. It's durable, easy to use, and produces beautiful results!
