Newentor CO2 Monitor, Indoor Air Quality Meters, Carbon Dioxide Detector

Great product seems to be fairly accurate as I have it in a grow area with several other humidity and temperature sensors. Screen is plenty bright but has dimming feature which is nice I guess if you want that sort of thing. For general testing I wish it updated more frequent than 6 second when plugged in, but really not a major issue. I do wish the little stand that flipped out was a bit more stable. But thats only cause mine is on a grid of thin wire, on a table or regular surface its great. I use mine in a martha tent and it works great.

I like the information displayed: - CO2, ambient room temp/humidity, time, date, alarms off/on. Alarms with snooze is a nice feature as well. I like the AAA battery (x3) backup. I like the size, wall mount option, or kickstand. Their customer support is amazing! Things I think could be improved (why maybe 4 instead of 5 stars): - The display, as shown in the attached images, is very sensitive to touch. Simply removing the protective coating caused some interesting white lines to appear in the black parts of the screen and the numbers to become temporarily discolored. Some of the larger, lighter colored, numbers do still have dark crack looking lines in some of the number segments. Lightly massaging them will make them disappear or move elsewhere. After a day or so or a few segment cycles (without touching the screen), the display looks good again. - The cord is plenty long enough, but it feels very light weight. It reminds me of the wires on the complementary headphones from the airlines. If the device was equipped with a USB-C connector instead, it would give the user more options. - If the unit was able to use a rechargeable battery, that could be charged with the USB cable, that would be a nice improvement as well. - Personally, I would like the unit better if it were all black with a white Newentor logo below the display, or all white. The black outer with the white inner frame around the dark display distracts my eye from the information displayed.

I used this to monitor conditions inside a mushroom growers tent. It worked flawlessly and the display was clear and colorful. For instance, the CO2 meter will change color when it surpasses a reading that you choose. At glance, you know if all is OK, or needs attention. I compared it's accuracy to other devices and found it to be very good accuracy. The best thing is the warranty coverage. After about 4-5 months inside the grow chamber with humidities in the 70% to 95% range, the lower half of the display began displaying only about half the digits. They replaced the entire unit, no questions asked. They did request me to help their engineers make the product better by sending them pictures of the missing digits/pixels. They had already replaced the product with free shipping. I was glad to help them and they thanked me. Incidentally, the failure may have been my fault for subjecting the electronics to such high humidities 24/7. The true measure of a company is revealed when there are problems. I give this company an A+++.

**update** Had a little trouble finding the right way to contact newentor as their social media (recommended on the packaging) was unresponsive but they did eventually respond by email (believe it was 2 days later). Once they responded though and I provided a video of the issue, they sent a replacement right away and the replacement is working properly. **prior review: ** Worked great for 2 days but now whenever I try to turn the backlight off it beeps and fully resets, even resetting the clock. The CO2 monitor seems to work very well after calibrating it according to the user manual. Before calibrating, the reading taken on outdoor air was about 550 ppm. It's odd that the instructions for calibrating are at the end of the user manual. I calibrated it with outdoor air while placing it on my windowsill. The new reading it gave was 400 ppm. Then I closed the window and the rating rose to about 500 after 30 minutes. After I closed both window and door to my bedroom, the reading went up to 650 ppm overnight. After I opened the bedroom window and door and ventilated with fresh air the reading returned to about 400 ppm after an hour or so. The monitor seems pretty good! It tells me that the CO2 for one person sleeping in a 10x10 closed off room is probably okay but two people not so much. From now one I sleep with at least bedroom door or window open.

I guess it reads CO2 well. At least it hasn't said my air is bad and I haven't passed out to prove it wrong. But it is truly aggravating all the steps to set the date and time. I suspect it is easier to arm or disarm a nuclear weapon. And your time will always be a bit off because of the time between setting it and the additional steps before you get out. Also, you can count on having to go through the process a couple of times due to fingers slipping on the little button you have to hold down while pushing other buttons. I should have just gotten a canary; it would test for other gases also.

My wife has frequent headaches and lethargy, aggravated by mild emphysema; I suspected that high CO2 levels in our tight home during sub-zero temperatures could be the cause. This device showed that our house isn't as tight as I expected – and hoped. :•( As a result of our confirmed good CO2 levels, we're now exploring medical solutions. It's great to be able to keep an eye on CO2 levels, though. It did immediately indicate very low humidity (<20%) and led me to discover that the humidifier on our furnace wasn't working. After fixing the humidifier, I was relieved to watch the humidity gradually return to comfort levels over a couple of days. Just this feature alone more than justified my cost. Unlike a few reviews, I found it very easy to set up, intuitively easy to read, and surprisingly accurate for it's price. I highly endorse it.

Most of what you're paying for here is the CO2 meter, and even if that were all this did, it would be good value versus other CO2 meters I've seen on Amazon. It has a big clear display, it can track a high-low range over time, and it can sound an alarm above a customizable level. Dual options for battery and DC power are also welcome. A perk of the battery option is that you'd want to take this outside to recalibrate the CO2 meter (since calibration is based on outdoor levels of CO2). Is it accurate? I don't have more expensive equipment to measure properly, but I do have other consumer-grade meters for temp, humidity and CO2, and this gives very similar measurements. The CO2 measurement is within 50ppm of another meter from a different manufacturer, with the out of the box calibration. It also reacts like you'd expect it to, to things like having more people in the room, or exhaling in its direction. So I have confidence that it isn't just making up numbers, it is actually measuring CO2 levels, and is decently accurate for basic monitoring purposes. As you can tell, I already have a CO2 meter, but what I like here is combining that with temperature, humidity, time, and date readouts, all of which are also useful to have at a glance. I might prefer the clock was more prominently featured on the display, rather than the CO2 measurement (which isn't that dynamic, you either have good ventilation or you don't), but it's all bright, crisp and easily readable.

After first calibration, has worked great. I don’t have any other co2 meters to compare it to, but the numbers seem accurate. It has definitely had me opening my windows a lot more!

I quite like this little device as it can run on batteries or plugged in. The face was clear and easy to read. What was of concern was that I bought 2 of them and their reading were not identical. One would think the temperature and humidity sitting beside each other would be identical, but they were not. They were close. I haven't had a chance to see them in action at our club for very long where I suspect the air quality is really poor, but on first reading the C02 was in the 'danger' zone. They seem fine but since I just got them, I don't have a lot of experience with using them.

Easy to read and colorful screen. Very good customer service also.

The cord is nice and long and the screen is bright. The calibration instructions are easy to follow, did that part with the battery. The chart telling out what type of air quality is nice too.
