Hogue OverMolded Rubber Grip for S&W J-Frame Round Butt

Perfect fit on my Airweight. Installation was a breeze...hardest part was finding a screw after dropping it, lol. I can get 2/3 of my pinkie finger on the grip now. It added 3/4" to the grip, no problem there. The texture feels better than the original. Price is very reasonable. It looks good ... can't wait to fire it!! If you have an Airweight, buy it.

This easy to install grip greatly improved my enjoyment of my S&W 642 revolver by reducing the felt recoil. It does add some size to the grip thereby making it less concealable. The reduction in re oil resulted in added accuracy which is a good trade in my opinion.

I for years have had a model 37, hated the grips , to small. Saw these and ordered a pair because I can no longer cock my Kimber. Ordered these grips , arrived very soon. good instructions, easy installation and now the gun fit my hand. Just saved av $1000.00 from buying a new gun, heck I still might.

Fits in the pocket PERFECTLY. Fits in the hand PERFECTLY, whereas the factory grip could not get the pinky on. Install was easy, no complaints. I liked it so much I bought a second one for my cousin to try.

I decided to replace my stock grips when the rubber started tearing after a few years of regular carry. So far, a great fit for my SW 642 Airweight. You will need a few tools to help with install. - 3/32 punch for removing the existing grip pin, and replacing with the supplied shorter pin. - Small hammer (to pound pin out/in) - 3/32 Allen key to remove the original grip panel screw. Install is fairly easy, just take your time with removing and replacing the grip pin, and make sure it’s even. The grip has a good tackiness without being overly sticky. The fit is nearly perfect up to the underside of the trigger guard, however it leaves a gap near the rear of the shrouded hammer. I suspect it will accumulate a fair amount of lint/dirt when carried for a while. Deducted a star for the gap.

For those of us with large hands especially, this grip makes your s&w airweight much more comfortable to use. If you have the least bit of gunsmithing ability (use a punch to remove/install a pin, rotate a screwdriver) install is a 5 minute operation. Still conceals perfectly IWB. Seldom does $30 improve your weapon this much.

This is a huge improvement over the stock 2 piece grip that was on my S&W 642. Yes it does add about .75 inch to the height of the grip but the trade off is well worth the improved feel, control and looks. I love the single piece construction. I also love the fact I can now get my pinky on the grip. Other reviews I read said if you have a J-frame 642, look no further and buy it! I now agree with that statement.

OUT OF THE GATE: a friction fit design is just a bad idea for a defensive handgun grip (and probably any other use). Even if installation goes perfectly, the design is just not as secure as traditional grips that screw together to (or through) the frame. Installation: The instructions warn you that fit is exceptionally tight and to use plenty of force however, this is only because the supplied frame bolt gets hung up in the grip and literally tears the grip as force is applied. IT IS INFINITELY EASIER TO SIMPLY INSTALL THE NEW PIN AFTER SLIDING THE GRIP ON. However the grip cap is the real weak point. This is what is supposed to keep the grip in place and relies on the frame pin engaging holes in the frame. The new frame pin is threaded and the grip cap has to be spread open to get it over the pin ends. However using a .38 shell casing as the instructions suggested didnt spread the cap quite far enough so the threads of the pin scratch their way into the cap, removing material and leaving it permanently loose fitting. Last, tiny pieces of the grip get shaved off when you follow the instructions. Having them stuck inside an internal hammer gun like a 642 is a really bad idea. RETURNED.

Con le guancette originali piccole in legno lucido dopo 5 colpi di 357 avevo i capillari rotti tra indice e polli, controllo durante lo sparo non ottimale (avevo anche le mani sudate e con l'impugnatura lisca non aiuta), con questa grip in gomma ho risolto tutti i problemi, presa saldissima, si contrasta molto meglio il rinculo e anche con mani sudate nessun problema.

タナカM360 J-レームラウンドバットに装着した場合、気づいた点: 1. 付属のグリップピンに交換しなくとも14mm同士なので可。 2. グリップ内部に少量のシリコングリスを塗ると差し込み易くなります。 3. スクリューの頭は飛び出さない程度に締め込む。 4. スクリューの頭は傷つけ易いので慎重に。
