Midwest ICrate 30”: A Bargain & Sturdy for Transport/ Use
I hated putting my Great Dane in her crate. She was crate trained since a pup, so she was fine. It was ok for her size, but I hated that she couldn’t fully stand up or stretch out. I searched and read reviews on larger options. This one had great reviews and looked large enough to meet my requirements. It arrived quickly and immediately I was super impressed with the quality. So much better than most. The crate is made of thick, tough metal. It might be tough enough to crate a Malinois! Definitely strong enough for my 145 lb Great Dane. Set-up was really easy and didn’t require a bunch of tools. I would highly recommend looking at the pictures and labeling the pieces before getting started. It makes it easier, you don’t have to keep referring to the pictures. Once it was up, we tried it out. I was overjoyed - seriously! It was SO big!! Bigger than I expected-it was perfect! She has so much room- she actually can horse jump onto her back legs a little. She can spread paws out comfortably. I couldn’t be happier. Honestly, look no further- you could not find a larger, better quality crate if you tried. Absolutely a fantastic value too -worth every penny. I am 100% guilt-free putting my girl in her “room”.

Easy to Set Up, Perfect Size, Sturdy and just right for my pup
I got the Amazon Basics 42” crate for my mini Goldendoodle, and it’s been working really well. It’s the right size, very spacious, she has plenty of space to lie down, turn around, and even grow into. It was super easy to set up right out of the box and folds flat when we’re not using it. The crate feels strong and safe, and the front door opens and closes smoothly. The tray at the bottom slides out, which makes cleaning easy. I also like that the open design gives her good airflow and helps her stay calm because she can see around. The only small issue is that her crate mat moves around a bit, but I just put a towel or grippy mat under it, and it stays in place. It only has one door, but that hasn’t been a problem for us. Overall, it’s a great crate for the price - simple, sturdy, and easy to use. I’d recommend it for anyone with a dog.

No-frills cage that gets the job done
This is a simple, no-frills cage that gets the job done. I actually purchased it to use for one of our chickens during “time out” when there was some bullying in the coop, and it’s worked well for that purpose! It was easy to assemble right out of the box, and I really like that it’s lightweight, foldable, and easy to move around as needed. The size is suitable for short-term use or smaller animals, and the design is straightforward without any unnecessary extras. It may not have a lot of added features, but for a basic, functional crate that’s portable and convenient to store, it’s been a solid option. Good value.

As a breeder I approve this kennel.
Delivery gets zero stars bc the box came covered in green goop that I think was detergent, and the kennel itself was poking out of the box the way it was packaged with the divider sticking out, so I couldn’t pull it out of the box. Between that and trying not to get green goop anywhere it was a mess tearing the box apart. The kennel overall appears not to be damaged though. The lever to open I think is nice but I am concerned the spring mechanism how it will hold up with long term use. Also not for littles bc they can pinch their fingers and get them stuck. The reason I took one star off is bc the tray isn’t fit well. If you push it to one side, there is a big gap on the other side. Its going to slide around when the dog moves and things get down on the sides, I see some dogs using this space to destroy the tray if they are bored enough. Divider was a little tough to get in and out, definitely need strong fingers for it. Over all I am happy with this purchase! Update: I Love this kennel! I had ordered 5 so I had 6 one for each puppy. I much prefer the lever for this one vs. my other brand. It makes getting pups in and out a lot faster. I think the lever will hold up well over time. Will buy again.

Best cage for the price!
Strong, sturdy, beautiful fit for our Shih Tzu puppy, and exactly what we needed. Setup was a little wonky, hence the 4 stars, because the instructions were at the bottom of the cage and I had to undo the entire cage myself to get them.

Works for me
So, I already had a large cage for my 90 pound lab. He's was only caged up when I would go to work or leave the house for grocery shopping or whatever. He was less than a year old at the time and I didn't trust him roaming the house free when I wasn't there. I got a rott puppy and needed another cage. This one filled the bill nicely. It wasn't a problem assembling it. I like the 3 latch system with a single handle to open all 3 latches. Better than the other cage which necessitated lifting the 2 wire latches on the door individually and freeing the bent end from the catch. Also having to get down by the floor for the bottom one. This is far easier. Can't comment on portability. I set it up once and it sits on tile. I will say I can slide it on the tile more easily than the other cage. I have no interest in lifting both cages to identify the differences in construction that make this possible. I guess that's a comment on "maneuverability". My puppy turned 4 months old (and 50 something pounds) last week. So you see I knew I'd need a substantial cage. He has a medium square bed that he's really outgrown now that fits well in the back of the cage. The divider I never used and its behind a huge chair out of the way so I can't comment on that. In the front of the cage I have 2 steel dishes that bolt to the side of the cage. If I put the lab in his cage, the puppy just goes in his and lays down so I'm not caging a raging beast. The cages are side by side so they can keep each other company. Generally I put a hard treat in each cage so they have something to chew. Does a good job as I continue to fill it with more puppy every day. Update: Well, in July 2024, the last day my rott was 7 months old, he was 101 pounds. That was the last time he was weighed. I'm getting way too old to lift him and get on the scale anymore. Not sure what he weighs now but the cage still gives him plenty of room. The other cage, my son borrowed from a friend. If that friend ever wants it back, I will buy another of this cage. I expect it will last me quite a few years. Update: Well... labs are chow hounds. Due to my feeding methods, and possibly him losing his cojones, he's bulked up to 119 pounds. They both still wander into their cages several times a day for a nap. His cage is a hair smaller than this cage. Big dogs, big cage. They are obviously not feeling crowded in there.

Sturdy cage for small medium dog or a medium to large cat
I just received this Amazon Basics Durable, Foldable Metal Wire Dog Crate with Tray, Single Door, 30 x 19 x 21 in, Black. I am a senior female, and it took me maybe three minutes to set it up. It literally is just unfolding of the crate And then hooking one metal piece over another. In the directions, it had a picture of a screwdriver and a wrench, but I never even had to go get those. The directions are just kind of useless pictures but just unfolding it actually set it up. I got this for my 9 pound cat so he can sit on the porch and be happy and safe. The crate is much larger than I imagined. That’s my fault because I didn’t measure. I probably could have gone smaller, but it is sturdy and simple. And I’m glad I purchased it. Now my cat can safely sit on the porch and watch the birds. I will give him 24 hours to lie in the cage and play around with it before I move it to the porch. And I like that I can fold it down in the winter when we do not need it. There is a divider piece that I tried to make a shelf out of it if you wanted to go up a little bit, but it is not made to work that way, so it barely fits. Amazon should actually re-tool this and think about making the divider so that it does fit to make a shelf. If I decide later on, I will probably get strong zip ties and put it in as a shelf if I think it’s needed. Right now, my cat is sitting in it like he is the king. The only caution I would have is that the plastic handle just barely clips on and it’s mostly for when you’re carrying it to put it away unfolded. I would never carry it out with the handle.

Perfect
Bought to keep my terrier in while I'm out or over night to stop house accidents. He loves it! Easy to put up, very spacious and a nice plastic easy clean tray in the bottom. I bought a think bed pad to pop in and can fit water bowl & food near the door. It's secure and lightweight. My pup likes to go sleep in there as the door is always open so he feels comfortable and secure in his 'den'. Closes with ease for when I need to pop out or go to bed and he has plenty of space to stand or move around. Definitely recommend and getting bigger means your dog is more comfortable and can fit bed + water which is a must. Great value for money. Quick delivery and very easy set up.

Great quality for the price!
Love these crates! I was skeptical, based on the price, but the size is excellent and it’s just as sturdy as the one I paid more for at the local pet store. I love the latching mechanism - much easier to manage than the other brand. Will be buying more!
