Combined with a language learning app and a few arabic speaking friends, these books made my journey to not completely sucking at arabic was fun and mostly painless.

Other reviewers have done a good job reviewing this book, which is one of the better ones in the Teach Yourself collection. The only reason I subtracted one star is because the text does not write the short vowels, shadda, sukun, etc. The problem is not as confusing as it might have been because all vocabulary lists have a transliteration along with the Arabic, so a person already familiar with vocalization can deduce where the vowel indicators would go, if the letter is doubled, etc. But I also think that the comparatively short shrift given to actually writing Arabic initially makes the written text more confusing. I think the best solution for the absolute beginner would be to purchase some book that teaches you the written alphabet and the more important orthographic conventions used in written Arabic. Many "curiosities" and apparent anomalies would be quickly understood. All things considered, this is a good textbook with valuable online audio content.

Good value for only 30 bucks. I’m looking forward to continuing my learning through this course which looks pretty thorough. The audio tracks for this book are available on the app. There were some sayin they weren’t. Maybe at the time but they are for sure available as I checked. Looks like it is going to be a good course. I’ve looked at it a little and am impressed. Way better than Duolingo or some other crap like that. Thanks.

Would be great, but is created to have an accompanying CD/DVD. That fact is not mentioned in the write up, and it comes without it.

This product will be helpful but the cd free download will be essential to make any progress, or private tutor would be an option. But the text appears to be adequate.

The book is even better of what I thought it will be, well explained. It came very fast. If I need more boks of this kind I will definitely check with this seller first.

i wanted to learn arabic but didnt know where to start, it is recommended to start with MSA so i started with this, this book is good as it has everything that is needed to learn! i would also recommend a arabic to english dictionary as it will help with learning this language!

El libro está muy bien dividido en lecciones, aumentando progresivamente la dificultad. Incluye contenido audible para mejorar la pronunciación, aunque ni con ayuda soy capaz de pronunciar el sonido (aeen). Una herramienta inmejorable para empezar a estudiar un idioma tan complejo como el árabe.

Compared to other methods that you can buy in Europe for learning a language, this book is really BAD. Poor in images, bad graphic about the context, and all the time they talk about audio material which is not available. Better look for anything else from Europe. Regards
