UPDATE: THE BEST INSECT/RODENT DETERRENT EVER! BUY IT AND PUT YOUR MIND AT EASE
I'm updating my review: I LOVE THIS STUFF AND NOTHING ELSE WORKS LIKE IT. It's easy. As mentioned below they state STEM may need reapplication, but not that often. And, a little goes a long long way. Plus, because the price is right, you can continue to purchase it as you need it. Critters really hate it and go away. It is so worth it. If you spray them they die immediately but I don't care if they die. I just want them to stay away and they do! The smell is overwhelming and I don't care! The scent alone DETERS anything from insects to rodents. It keeps me from having to set traps. It keeps me from using neurotoxin sprays. I love it and wish it didn't smell so strong but THAT'S WHY IT WORKS!!! It's only essential oils and it is all natural. After the third yellow sac spider (and he seemed well-fed) landed in my bed, I had - had enough. I give a quick SPURT anywhere I might see a cobweb or in corners and on the ceiling fan ...because they seem to like it up there, dopes. Regardless, the smell alone is a deterrent! Wouldn't it be nice if you didn't see them at all! Wouldn't it be nice if they just stayed away? I don't mind reapplication because it doesn't take much. A SPRITZ DOES THE TRICK. Thankfully the price is right or I would look into other options but the lemongrass in this product is despised by spiders and rodents. A small spritz and your whole room will be a deterrent. I would now like to get some sleep and think I will. I don't like seeing creatures and I don't want them around. This keeps them away in the first place! Isn't that what you want? Don't hesitate. Don't bother with ant traps. Use this and repeat the usage until it stops. You can use traps outside the house, if you have more trouble. It does leave a horribly oily residue so don't spray it anywhere you can't wipe down later. That's the only drawback and it's not a big one. Despite the fact that this may need reapplication, it's surprising how well it works. I had to leave one of the homes unoccupied for quite a while (years). I bought this for ants, but was surprised to find that some mice had also taken up residence in the basement. I would spray and although the scent would dissipate, it actually took some time... Longer than they say on the bottle. I also found wetting cardboard, cotton balls or anything absorbent could be placed in various locations and that makes for easy cleanup. I'd simply spray again, and eventually, it seemed they did not want to come back. As far as the ants go, they are dead on contact. All I needed to do was find the general location where they were coming from and it was over. One small word of caution, if you are sensitive to smells, you won't get away scott-free. It may be natural but a little goes a long way. Overspraying, was overwhelming. It gave me headaches. IT WAS STILL WORTH IT! Don't overspray.

This actually works (on earwigs too!)
I don't know what happened this year, but suddenly my house was the meeting point for every earwig in the neighborhood. I mean, they were crawling on my screen door in waves, if you picked up anything outside at night, there was a mat of them - there were literally so many crawling on my hosta stalks that they were bending over. It was gross. Some even made their way into my basement window wells and got in the window down there. Absolutely not. I've tried a few ant killers here and there before, they usually smell foul, don't really last, and are expensive. This product was none of that. It does have a smell, but it's not that strong or awful. It lasted about 4-7 days per application around my sliding doors and the window wells. Obviously it lasted a bit longer with inside application than outside, but the fact that it lasted outside at all is high praise against other products that do not at all. It also seems to kill both ants and earwigs on contact as well as repel them (I live in the woods with a high humidity level, so we get roaming carpenter ants too, and this worked on them as well). It's a bit oily, but I didn't have any issues with it staining bricks, stone, or the white painted trim I put it on outside. It sprays very fine, so it doesn't take a ton to cover a decent area. Also, my dogs and cat had no issue with it, which is great. Since I was spraying it liberally on the threshold where they do into and out of the yard, they came in contact with it to some degree, and they had no issues with it. They didn't even sniff at it. I have a degree in Chemical Engineering, so I'm definitely not one of those "omg chemicals are bad!" people that avoids all pesticide or only buys "natural" things, but I bought this on a whim on sale and highly recommend it. Works AT LEAST as good as standard commercial ant killers like Raid for sure. I will 100% be buying it again next year.

Works great, but stinks!
This insect killer is very reliable and will destroy unwanted bugs in the house. It works great. I've used it on annoying flies and some other bothersome summer insects and have always had success. I'd definitely recommend it for anyone dealing with unpleasant insects, especially families with kids and pets. ✓ Safe and non-toxic. The active ingredient is derived from geraniums. It isn't poisonous to kids or pets. ✓ Highly effective. It works instantly. ✓ The sprayer works reliably and makes it easy to target the insect. ✕ The smell is extremely strong and quite unpleasant. It is overwhelmingly floral in a very cloying way and lasts for days after a single spray. ✕ A family member did have difficulty breathing after this product was used indoors. We needed to air the place out a bit before she could come back in. ✕ It leaves an oily residue on surfaces that is difficult to remove from fabrics. So far no staining, but the greasy spots it left on the walls were hard to clean up. Based on my experiences, I now use this product outdoors only. I'd recommend it for outdoor use, but indoors find something else.

Bug killer
Have an ant problem; apparently the dry cat food draws them in. Works great and is apparently safe to use around cats. No normal bug repellent smell

STEM BUG SPRAY REALLY WORKS
This product really works, the only thing I dislike is the oily residue it leaves behind. You don't have to worry about any bugs returning. What I do is take a paper towel and spray the product on it and wipe around the problem area. I have not seen any ants or anything else crawling around my house in the 4 months or more.

Works, but the the oil and smell are not worth it
Flies should love this stuff. For them it is either a quick demise, or a reprieve. Why? Because unless they're in a windowless room with nothing in it but plastic walls...or outside...it's easier to just let them go. I have actually chosen to just let the vexatious little jerks live and wear themselves out landing on my face while trying to sleep, rather than deal with the oil slick aftermath. Bottom line? It works well, but if you're not careful, your curtains will get stained and your kitchen floor will be a lemongrass scented slip and slide. Just invest in a $1 fly swatter.

We have been battling tawny crazy ants for several summers now. They come out as soon as it starts to warm up. We have tried all the highest rated baits, gels, and traps. Pest control visits every 3 months. THIS PRODUCT is the ONE that really works for this type of ant. A shot of the spray kills on contact, and then a paper towel with a gentle wipe in the general area spreads the oil lightly across the surface and keeps working to both kill and repel. I could not be happier with this product. 6 stars

Works quickly but doesn’t last long
5 stars for the fact that this really is effective in clearing out ants quickly and it’s safe for my kids and birds. Summer in AZ is brutal for ants…whenever we think we’ve gotten rid of them, they come back 10 fold. Professional treatment, at best, will get rid of about 80% of the colonies, but with millions of ants per colony, you still get stragglers. I’ve purchased anything from ant baits (inside and outside), to gels, to sprays, to grouts and sealers (which carpenter ants tend to chew through anyway). This is the only thing that keeps them from entering. Our rental is dated and has lots of decay that isn’t visible, so we see anything from carpenter to sugar ants. They get in everywhere…Miserable. I spray this nightly in the nooks I know the ants get in from otherwise our kitchen and pantry would literally be infested in the mornings. It is very oily, which is a blessing and a curse. The oil keeps the spray there long enough where at least in the morning, if there starts to be signs of ants, they’re slowed down and I can spray again. It’s extremely slippery…even if you spray on the floor and then clean afterwards, residue is still present. I generally clean with Clorox, which seems to bind the oil well enough. Yay for chemicals! While it does kill the ants, it only works on the ants that are visible. Once they smell the spray, they’re slowed down and stay away, but return as soon as the smell dissipates. I did wish it lasted longer, but with the ant problem we deal with, I’ll take whatever remedy is offered. I’ve purchased this 4 times now and will definitely be buying more in the future.
