Great chain saw! Cuts very nicely! Plenty of power. My first time with a battery powered chain saw and I find it much more convenient. The battery can be a little heavy but not too heavy. Just a well-built device.

I really had severe doubts about ANY battery chainsaw. Up until now, I have only used gas, because they get the job done. I decided to try a battery saw, and I already have an EGO blower, so I waited for the chainsaw to go on sale and bought it. All I did was add the bar oil, and reluctantly approached a tree that was in need of coming down. The only word I can use to describe this saw is, unbelievable. This saw is a beaver. It has more power and cuts better than any gas saw I have ever used. After a few large cuts, I did have to tension the chain, which is a breeze. I cut two fairly large trees completely to the ground and bucked the limbs, and the battery was still showing 2 steps to go until empty. My neighbor came over to see the saw in action, and asked to use it. I gave it to him and he trimmed a few branches and the battery life still had not changed. I absolutely LOVE this saw. Not one complaint. The power is unreal and the oiler works great.

This saw is amazing. Actually cuts faster than my Poulan 2055. Battery charges quickly and runs for a long time. Used it for over an hour of continuous work.

I am becoming more and more of a fan of electric power equipment. So far, this 16" bar chainsaw has been great and has been very effective in cutting up timber. I bought this saw more so to cut up limbs on my neighbor's property as she is an older woman. We just recently had a nasty storm move through and it knocked huge limbs down on her property. Largest limb was about 16" in diameter. Made sure the battery was fully charged (4.0Ah) and the bar oil was topped off. It did not have any trouble cutting through the wood. The only issue I ran into was the chain skipped off the bar but didn't break. For the most part, it was pretty easy getting the chain back on and I made sure that it was tight.All in all, it's nice not having to deal with 2-cycle gas, it's quieter, and cleaner (in terms of immediate air pollution). As long as you preplan to have more than one battery and they are charged up, this has been a nice replacement for a gas chainsaw. I just hope the longevity of the unit will be up there.

This review is written by someone who has never used a chainsaw before. The chainsaw arrived with the battery partially charged, no bar and chain oil in the box-need to purchase separately. The chainsaw is easy to use, lightweight even with the battery. It cut through the logs easily; if you haven’t used one before read the tips in the instruction manual. I got it jammed in a log because I was pushing down rather than allowing the machine to do its job. When it jammed I pulled the chain off accidentally; that was a chore to get back on, but once I figured out how (watched a you tube) it came together and I was able to complete my project. The next time I used it was super easy. This is my 3rd EGO product, make sure you register this on EGO’s website, trying to get a warranty repair will suck your soul clean out of your body. I needed a warranty repair on my mower and it took their customer service department 3 days and 3 phone calls to complete the claim. Each phone call was ridiculously long as I was put on hold multiple times while the gal “checked on things”. You will need a copy of your receipt to register - doing this before needing warranty service will not speed up the process, but better to do it before you need it and have lost the receipt. If you do a warranty claim, stand beside the machine the whole time because they will literally ask 3 times for the serial number, even though you provided it during registration.I do like EGO products, I find their batteries last a good long time and fit all of their products. But their customer service needs some MAJOR work.

Unboxing it was fun and easy. The battery came with 2 bars of charge on it. So I after mounting the charger on my shop wall I put the battery on the charger and got ready to get to work. An hour later the battery was ready to go and I loaded up the quad and headed out to the woods.I fell and delimbed 7 trees 14" thick and had cut up 2 of them before the battery died. This chainsaw is a serious work horse. 2 hours after getting it, I had it out logging with zero complaints. I just have to get another battery or 2 and I can get some real work done.It's a tad bit heavy for a battery saw. But it's much lighter than my gas one. I love the ability to maintenance the chain and bar with no tools to have to carry around.Also, this thing is tough. It seems much heavier built than the Oregon cs300 I had been using for years.Overall a good size, design, and functionality. I'd recommend this for any serious homesteader who relies on firewood to heat their home

So we had a gas powered stihl chainsaw that we have been using to break down a very large tree for almost 2 years now. The gas one constantly was breaking or would stop half way thru a cut and was in the shop more than it wasn't. I could also never start it and always had to have my significant other do it which annoyed the heck out of me cause I hate depending on others. Last time we took it in it had so many issues it was going to cost more to fix than replace.I ordered the 16" ego on prime day after reading the reviews assuming I could easily handle myself. I'm in general pretty handy and good with power tools. This thing cut up a huge portion of the tree (2.5 very large cart fulls) in <1 hr on one battery. We have this tree nearly completely done at this point in 2 hours that we had been trying to remove for 2 years. Hubby was pretty mad because he's always said a battery powered chain saw wouldn't work for our property and this chainsaw proved him wrong. We have ~1.5 acres and very large branches are constantly falling. Cut some very large branches wider than the 16" chain without an issue.Quiet, fast, east to use. It's only day one but I highly recommend. It does not come with chain oil so make sure you order at the same time. I also bought a speed charger for the battery which is charging super quick. I'm happy, hubby isn't, mostly cause he hates when I'm right tho lol we will see how it holds up but very happy so far.

This chainsaw was very easy to put together the ease of assembly was great, I had it ready in just a few minutes.It feels comfortable to hold, so the fit is really good even during longer work.I like that it is battery powered no cord to deal with, just charge it and go.The build feels strong, so I’m confident in its durability.The safety features work well, and I feel comfortable using it.For the price, it has great value for money cuts fast, battery lasts long enough, and it’s simple to operate.Also, I didn’t have any oil leakage at all everything stayed clean.Very happy with this chainsaw and I would recommend it.
