Sennheiser HD 206 Stereo Headphone

I was pleasantly surprised to hear decent sound quality for a product that has been discontinued by Sennheiser. It's nice to have a nice lightweight headset without the pain in the rear coily cord that comes with the Sennheiser HD 280 pro headphones. The sound quality is very good especially considering the fact that these are made with thin wires. I have purchased Pro Audio headphones for 4x the cost as these that had extremely poor sound quality compared to these. I use them for mixing my sound on my MPC one, and really, they are much more comfortable than my HD280 pro model, and like I stated before, with a nice long cord that isnt coiled to get tangled up in everything. I actually prefer these to my HD280 pro model due to the good sound, comfort, and longer cable. It's too bad Sennheiser discontinued these, but maybe they'll come out with a pair with a more sturdy cord. That is the only downside is the thin cord. I see future problems with the durability of the cord on these, but we'll just have to wait and see. Sennheiser has always made quality products. These are not noise cancelling, but they are stil good enough to use for professional mixdowns on my MPC One.

When I needed a pair of headphones for my home studio, I had three things in mind: sound quality, noise proofing, and cost. The Sennheiser's were a good pick. I knew the brand from their microphone line, so I thought of trying their headphone line. Man, it's been awesome for my use. It's not top of the line, but it works. If you're just starting out, I would highly recommend you buy these to get started with your home studio.

I love this brand. The fit is snug against my ear, but the ear 'speakers' that go over my ear are a little too small - my previous Sennheiser had larger ear cuffs, and it was easier to hear and block out external noise. I don't know why they changed that - to use less material? It's still a good product, but I really prefer the larger ear cups for better listening quality, so I brought it down one star due to that.

I ordered the Sennheiser HD 206 Stereo Headphones for my wife, who plays keyboards in our band and had some cheap Sony's that were really poor quality. I do voiceovers professionally and have a home studio as well and have a working-man's knowledge of audio equipment. My studio headphones are Sennheiser HD 280 Pro's, a professional audio engineering go-to workhorse for years -- so I was brand also loyal to Sennheiser's quality. The Sennheiser's bang for the buck --approx. $25!-- comfort, light weight and overall audio performance blew me away -- particularly bass response. When I read its specs, it clearly outperformed on paper many other more expensive headphones at 2-3X the price. Couldn't be happier with my purchase and recommend these headphones to anyone looking for a high quality audio experience.

there are a few negative points for this item: - they sound 'loud,' but they don't really sound 'clear.' distinct voices don't really stand out - they're lightweight, so they feel a bit cheap - the cord is skinny, the padding and frame feel flimsy. - they cup around your ears alright, but they put your ear very close to the speaker itself, to the point where your ear actually brushes against the mesh - heavier padding would be better. in summary, these are $50 headphones, and they're okay for that price range - but you do get what you pay for.

I bought these on sale because they're no longer being produced. I just needed a pair of wired headphones for work and I looked for a budget pair of headphones by a brand I would at least trust. I stumbled across these and looked up the review prior to purchasing on audiophile websites and the headphones had decent reviews. I bought them and I am impressed. Clear sound for all frequencies. Punchy clear bass but not too overwhelming. I am extremely impressed for less than $30, the quality of the sound these produce. I will say the ear cups are bit uncomfortable but they may take time to break in and the plastic frame/construction seems a bit cheap, but I mean it's entry headphones. I do not regret.

I had a pair of HD 206 headphones for several years... great value. Great sound quality and durability for home use. Going on this overall experience, when the ear piece broke on my old HD 206's I did a quick internet search and found HD 206's being sold here on Amazon. They were more expensive than what a competitor's site was charging but I have trusted Amazon and Sennheiser for many years. So I ordered a replacement pair. They shipped and they appeared just like my old HD 206's (both the packaging and the product), however the sound quality was VASTLY inferior right out of the box. In short, 75% of the clarity of my old pair not present in this new pair. The sound was so muddled that I felt like I had bought some strange "headphone" product from a highway rest station. I began to wonder what in the heck happened. I checked my order a little closer and it indicated that I had somehow bought from a third party, through a so-called Amazon "marketplace". I had a bad experience once before with a large, well-known competitor who had also started one of these suspect "marketplaces". You are hardly aware that you are ordering through a so-called "marketplace" and I believe that is by design... to dupe the customer into buying an inferior product. A little more internet digging found that apparently 3rd parties can buy products (like headphones) in bulk from a well known company (like Sennheiser) - products that will therefore bear the name of a well known and trusted company (like Sennheiser) - products that were ostensibly manufactured by a well known company (like Sennheiser) for the purpose of selling them on retail sites like Amazon. Furthermore information on the internet describing this practice is quick to claim that this is a "legal" scheme... and we all know what "legal" refers to within this context. I also recently realized Sennheiser no longer manufactures the HD 206. So shall we make an educated guess as to what happened here? Did Sennheiser manufactured tens of thousands of inferior "HD 206" models knowing this line of headphones would soon be discontinued and then sold masses of these inferior products to 3rd party vendors who got to use the Sennheiser name to sell said inferior products... and Amazon was their co-conspirator in online retail to get this little racket setup? I will not buy Sennheiser products ever again, nor will I do business with Amazon ever again. Unbelievable. Just unbelievable.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of sound from these headphones. Reviews had me leery of bass from them but not only is it there it's accurate, they are not Thumpers like the dude down the block who rattles your windows when he drives by( I hate Thumpers). The highs are the same, accurate and none of the Ssssibalance you usually get from modestly priced Headphones and the Vocal/Mids are just in your face, clear and hot. I should mention I use a tube headphone pre-amp for Headphones and don't need to go over half Volume to get what I want. If you're on the fence about the SENNHEISER HD 206 don't be for the price your getting a good product with a Soundscape that rivals much higher priced Headphones, Just sayin.

El sonido no es nada especial y el material es bastante plasticoso pero son cómodos y por calidad precio dudo que se encuentren cosas mucho mejores.

J avais deja achete le jbl 500 mais il m en fallait un 2eme,simple et toujours filaire.je suis ravi de ce choix. Les graves n etant pas amplifiees, le son est plus naturel et d excellente qualite.bonne sensibilite, puissant. Aussi bien qu un modele plus cher.simple donc fiable.fil plus long que le jbl donc aisance dans les mouvements.bon ŕendu dans toute la gamme de frequence avec une bonne separation des instruments.clarte de la voix.agreable a porter car plus de place pour la tete.je ne regrette pas cet achat surtout pour le rapport qualite prix...

Headphones exceed pricepoint. Got it while it was on sale, and its great for listening to music, watching videos, etc. The wire is really long, though that can get in the way, it won't pull on you if you have to get up briefly. I can wear them for long hours, and I wear glasses which is great as well. The headphones fit comfortably over my ears and don't clamp down on my head. Sound depth is lacking however, so don't expect great bass or trebles.

Als Ersatz für meinen defekten Kopfhörer habe ich mir diesen Sennheiser gekauft. Ich mache Radio und brauche lediglich während des Aufsprechen und dem nachträglichen Bearbeiten Kopfhörer. Zum Hören von Musik wäre meine Kaufentscheidung sehr wahrscheinlich etwas anders ausgefallen. Und jetzt kommt das Aber: Musik, und da kommt es auf die Qualität der Quelle an, kommt auch mit diesem Sennheiser sehr sauber rüber. Also Dateien in Wave-Format oder hoher mp3 Auflösung. Bin absolut zufrieden und begeistert, denn auch wenn die Höhen bei 18 kHz enden, so bemerke ich nicht wirklich einen Unterschied. Außengeräusche werden minimiert, die Ohrpolster umschließen sauber meine Ohren (normale Kopfform, normale Ohren...). Auch längeres Tragen ist aufgrund des geringen Gewichts angenehm. Fazit: klare Kaufentscheidung zum kleinen Preis.
