Update 1: It might not actually be core-crushed. I think I had to adjust now that it’s past its break-in period. Using a microfiber cloth to wipe it down every now and then also helps maintain the surface. Changing from 3 stars to 4 stars for now. // Original Review: It’s a good paddle to start with (decent spin and pop, good for ball-placement players), but as you play more (I’d say within 40 matches), you’ll feel that the pop and spin that the paddle used to provide is greatly reduced. The sweet spot also becomes smaller, increasing the likelihood of mis-hits. Good deal when on sale, but don’t expect it to be a paddle that will last long enough for competitive play in leagues and tournaments. This still uses an older, Gen2 or Gen3 honeycomb polymer core (not a Gen4 foam core), which tend to (and will eventually) break once used enough times - look up “core crushing” or “core collapse.” Handle grip can be a bit on the smaller side, so using some sort of overgrip helps a lot, especially if your hands sweat a lot. This paddle is for newer pickleball players. And after about a month of playing consistently, you’d need to play with a different paddle.

I began my journey playing pickleball only a few months ago. My background is in tennis having played for nearly 40 years. So the transition to pickleball was perhaps quicker than some. Naturally there are some adjustments in stroke and strategy. As with tennis, it is clear that the quality of the paddle (in this case) is also holds quite a bit of importance in how one performs. Joola is a well known brand in this sport so that was an easy choice. But I was also interested in how it handled control, spins, and power. As an intermediate advanced player (and with the background mentioned) I am happy to say that all seem to perform well. I am very satisfied with this paddle. Esthetically it looks good to. I would highly recommend this paddle for anyone at this level. Of course the Advanced players gravitate to different types of paddles but I believe this one is a happy medium.

Great bday gift for my hubby he loves it

Poor quality, paddle broke 8 months after purchase. My son saved his money to buy this on Black Friday and spent countless hours researching paddles in his price range. Company offers warranty for six months and were unresponsive to my emails. Poor customer service

Been playing for slightly under a year now using cheaper paddles and I saw this on sale and decided to upgrade, boy oh boy this paddle was a game changer makes my older paddle feel like a frying pan. If you are new to the sport and you want a paddle below a 100 bucks on sale this is a worthy buy.

Tiene muy buen agarre, buen equilibrio en la mano y despide bien la pelota. Empezé a jugar hace poco al pickleball (si bien llevo muchos años jugando al tenis y al padel) con las palas que nos proporcionaba el club y la diferencia es impresionante. Merece la pena comprar una pala de este nivel.
