I always several Photomyne products. The unit retired professional photography teacher at a college level. I recommend them I own I own a larger light pad and I wanted something smaller.. so it was on sale. You can do slides negatives, black and white color. You can also put a photo on it. It’s sturdy as great brightness. It’s thin. You can flip it over and use it as a backdrop. I photograph baseball cards, small items I recommended highly all the products are worth it. They have an excellent customer service. You can connect it to any USB C I have power banks you could put it in your pocket or purse. I hope this helps you with a decision to buy it.

This is a very useful tool for converting old slides to digital! It’s small, easy to use and the light is powered by a USB cord, enclosed in the package. I spent 3 days converting 50+ years of slides into digital albums in my Photomyne App. I highly recommend this device.

I bought this hoping to use the Photomyne app to scan my 2 1/4" and 127 negatives. Well, the app isn't working working on that size. I may be missing a setting in the app, so the jury is still out. I can always just use it to backlight my flatbed scanner or take a photo and convert with software, but since this a Photomyne product it should work with the app. I'll check the settings and edit this with my findings. The light is even across the surface and the lack of an on off switch makes no difference for my use.

I wanted to use this is a quick-and-dirty way of scanning negatives, and it served the purpose well. Set the negative on the light pad under a piece of glass to keep it flat, shoot with a digital camera + macro lens from a tripod, remote-triggered. This light pad is small so I'm forced to shoot one negative at a time instead of a whole strip, but I prefer that anyway maximize resolution and to avoid distortion. Quite satisfactory results for proofing, and I suspect with some tinkering with Photoshop settings etc I could match or exceed commercial labs for image quality.

This is a nice little light, it works for a single medium format slide and is great for limited space. I'm keeping this one next to my scanner. The main problem is the lack of a power button or any kind, you plug it in to USB and it lights up, unplug it to turn it off. Since it's very bright I don't want to leave it on constantly, it gets in the way of doing other things. But if I'm turning it off and on between each slide switch in the scanner I'm going to break the USB port with the push/pull.
