MXR Sub Octave Bass Fuzz Guitar Effects Pedal

I’m a pedal junky. Unsatisfied with how many of my guitar-based pedals didn’t work for bass I’ve been trying MXRs and I’m SO glad I did! Disappointed with the bass octaver and chorus pedals, I tried one more time with this, their Bass Envelope Filter, and Bass Overdrive and I couldn’t be happier! I’ll stick to the Fuzz here, obviously. The two-option fuzz is worth the price of admission; either will keep you sonically experimenting for quite a while. But then add in the octave options and you are playing the serious hell-raising sounds you always imagined you could play but never found! Unlike many guitar fuzz pedals that say they work with bass, they’re not designed to work with bass and that’s important. Many of those type sound muddy when used with bass frequencies. Not MXR. This pedal (and the other two I mentioned) are crisp and distinctive even in the haze of their own distortions. If I could only buy one pedal for my bass, this would be the one (so far!)

This & the MXR bass DI+ make an extremely, extremely flexible, simple distortion/ octave setup with or without an amplifier! Great quality gear👍👍

Everything sounded great, but the leds wouldnt turn on for the corresponding effects that were on. There was definitely something wired wrong. I was kinda torn, it was just bothersome enough that it would be an issue, it definitely didnt work right... tho, i did only use a battery, the battery was full. After i sent it back i had ordered a different pedal that didnt quite work right until i used an adapter.... so.... maybe user error.... or batteries are a bad idea.

Well built and nicely presented . Simply a good pedal that does pretty much as its advertised to do

Versatil y buen fuzz

First thing, pedal sounded amazing until it broke. Second thing, I'm absolutely no electrician. When comes to mother boards and circuits. But after opening the back, I noticed right away the fuzz board switch was not straight and was touching, whatever that thing was, so I straightened it up and now it's fixed. Very poorly quality control. Do better Dunlop. If I can notice something wrong. You guys have some really bad QC's

I'm a big fan of using the right tool for the right job, so pedals that have multiple functions don't end up on my pedal board. But this is an exception. I bought this to emulate synth bass lines from computer generated nonsense that makes it's way onto my playlist. Find yourself trying to add some depth and dynamics to a Disney song, or Billie Eilish? This pedal really does the trick. A touch on the Sub-Octave, a touch of Fuzz, add Chorus, then Compress the hell out of it. And you'll drop beats like a Skrillex whatever.

Absolutely love this pedal. Just the amazing fuzz tones from the two different fuzz circuits make it worth the money, then you throw in the octave and Wow!! The octave tracks better than any I've tried, even down to the B string on my 5er.
