She was rumored to be the world's most beautiful woman in her time. Nefertiti, Queen of Egypt, was the co-ruler of her country in the 14th Century BC. She was the wife of Akhenaten (Amenhotep IV) who made great revolutionary changes in religious concepts in ancient Egypt during his ruling reign. The name "Nefertiti" literally means "a beautiful woman has arrived." She was unusually powerful and influential for the era. Nefertiti was made famous by her bust, now in Berlin's Altes Museum. It was attributed to the sculptor Thutmose, and was found in his workshop. The bust itself is notable for exemplifying the understanding Ancient Egyptians had regarding realistic facial proportions.
