The voltage output becomes unstable after a year, most likely a bad cap. Made my x7 unusable, have to break out the old power adapter. I thought $45 will last me longer than that.

My stock power pack stopped working, and I immediately ordered this new pack which arrived swiftly 2 days later. It's larger than the previous one, with slightly shorter cables, and the DC plug doesn't fit quite as snugly as I would like, but considering that Creative no longer sells this upgrade pack (or the stock one from what I can find), this is the best bet. Sound is more potent than before from my short tests, and here's a pro tip: for a desktop solution using the USB cable, I found a Windows 10 pre-amp software (Equalizer APO) to decrease the dB in general which upped the bass response massively.
