I wanted the written playing instructions to go with my vintage backgammon board. This met the need.

I started playing Backgammon in high school and then sporadically throughout the years. I recently bought a Backgammon board and needed to refresh myself on the rules. This book does a fantastic job; short and to the point.

Don't waste your money on this "nothing" book. It does not have any diagrams, not even of how to set up pieces board or examples of play. The text is not particularly clear about how to play the game or strategies to employ.Probably the WORST "how to" book I have ever purchased. Fit only for tearing up and using as campfire starter.

This book is a great new player.starter book. Not super long. Fits nicely inside the case of either of my boards. For any newbies I come across.

This showed me how to set up my father's backgammon board!

This book would be much better off with illustrations or photos. It would be much easier to understand if it would show what the game set up is.

I recently rekindled a desire to play Backgammon, not having participated in the game since my early years in college.I ordered a few basic books on Backgammon for my wife and I to re-learn the game, and most were good references and resources. However, How to Play Backgammon, by Chad Bomberger was a total waste of money.First, how does one learn to plan Backgammon without a drawing of the backgammon board with direction of play and players courts explained? Not one in the entire book!Whoever set up the book totally messed the Table of Contents....the page numbers do NOT correspond with the various sections!Wish I could get a refund on this one!
