Lovely keyboard

UPDATE (1/7/19):Looking back on my initial review, it's pretty clear that I didn't really know what I was talking about. Since then, I've done a fair amount of research in the field, and have learned a lot about mech keyboards in general.I now own another keyboard that has BOX Jades as switches. It's loud, clicky, and a bit heavy. When compared to this Niz keyboard, it'd almost be accurate to say that they are total opposites. I like the niche fun and sharpness of the jades, but they're hardly optimal for day-to-day tasks-- at least for an extended period of time. For general everyday use and gaming, I definitely prefer the silent, light feel of the Niz's 35g capacitive switches. It's non-invasive, easy to use over a long period of time (I have never felt fatigue using this keyboard), and also sounds like the light pitter-patter of rain when used for stretches of typing. It has the same great soothing feel as Topre keyboards, but is much lighter and softer. If you're a fan of clicky or otherwise more responsive switches, you might find the excessively light feel of this keyboard to be a bit too "hollow" for your taste. And that's perfectly fine. Sometimes, you just need that extra bit of oomph in your life. However, if you're on the lookout for a keyboard that can serve as the perfect zero-resistance extension of your mind into the digital world, I cannot recommend this keyboard and its siblings enough. They're honestly gamechanging.____________________________________________________________________________________________Initially, the weighting was a bit off-putting, but I've grown to adore this keyboard.I personally find the model quite pretty, and it feels great to work with on a regular basis. The stock keycaps are a bit on the lighter side though, so if you're into heavier weight, I'd suggest looking around for replacement keycaps. Can't say how this model compares to topre keyboards, but having switched from generic red-switch mechs, I can say that I was genuinely pleased with what I got.

Great value for money, but some minor problems

I have just unboxed this keyboard. It feels very light touch compared to the HHKB Pro 2 Type-S. Having the cherry stems will allow me to switch in G20 key caps. This model does not appear to have holes in the switch bases to install my own LEDs, which I had hoped to do. Switching Command/Win and Alt is easier than the HHKB, it just requires a function key. The same is true to for switching the Caps and Ctrl keys, although in the description is says to use F8, when in fact this keyboard uses F9 to switch the Caps and Ctrl keys. Having used the HHKB quite a bit now, I find that this keyboard is quite easy to switch to. Though I'm not sure how to switch the BackSpace/Backslash keys, if I could do that, I would have to give this keyboard 4-5 stars, but for now 3. I have to say, that the value for money for a cherry-Topre is very good. Fn+Esc does not lock this keyboard, as described, this also is incorrect sales information. The keyboard ships with spare springs (I think that'w what they are), and a very nice USB cable. But the item does not ship with a manual, so do not know how to program this keyboard. Holding the keyboard up to eye-level, I can see that some of the keys in the same rows are a little bit higher than others. This is not bad enough that it effects my typing as far as I can tell so far , but it is noticeable when looking at the keyboard. The thocking is nice, it's a little more clackety on the upstroke than a stock HHKB Pro2 Type-S. But somehow the spacebar is about 10 times quieter than the stock HHKB Pro 2 Type-S. Perhaps this is the ABS space on the HHKB vs. the PBT space on the Niz? The 36g springs feel extremely light after using the 45g HHKB Type-S, but I like it, it's quick and light, fingers dancing. I will update this review after I have had more to to test it out.

Fantastic Keyboard, despite the 5.5u spacebar!

Pros:- Topre feel for *way* cheaper than an official Topre board- Programmable!- Keycaps are surprisingly high quality for the price- Cherry MX stems on Topre-esque sliders- Very compact!Pro/Con?- The keys are _really_ light. They make my NovaTouch (45g Topre) feel heavy when I switch back to it.(FWIW, I like both, but I suspect that these keys might be way too light for some people.)Cons:- 5.5u spacebar. o_0(Kinda negates the benefit of having those MX-compatible stems, since you're pretty much stuck with the stock spacebar, unless you can get one 3D-printed for you.)----tl;dr - This board is (comparatively) very inexpensive and surprisingly good. ;-)

Love this keyboard

Love this keyboard. I use it mostly for gaming. The low actuation force combined with the normal 2mm actuation point actually feels better to me than my keyboard with speed switches. It's also very quiet. Not completely silent, but it's quieter than my other keyboards with red/silver switches plus o-rings and it also has a lower pitched sound that's less annoying late at night. It's also great for typing. There's also software that lets you map keys to media controls and other functions.I can't really think of any cons other than it'd be nice if it was backlit and if there were more options to play around with the actuation point (like changing it to 1mm) would have been nice.
