Always A Win With LR Toys
I will never be able to express in words how much I absolutely LOVE Learning Resources toys. After having three children and experiencing many different toys, this has to be a top favorite for me. Here is why: By his first birthday, my son could identify these five colors! Then as his speech developed he began to say these five colors. Now we've moved on to the numbers on the little bird houses, 1 through 5. Sometimes colors on baby toys or books that are intended to teach them their colors are not exactly easy to identify as they are not basic colors. These are very clearly blue/green/orange/purple/red and so easy for toddlers to identify. -I would repeat the color throughout our play time with them and line up the houses in a row then the birds in a row. -I started showing him where each went, while saying the color several times. -Then emptied them and let him put them in the correct house. Sure enough, he was able to put them in the correct color then began saying the color. I could not believe how quickly he learned his colors. As a working mom, I feel so guilty that I am not spending enough time teaching my son but I am with these (and any other LR toy). It's an easy learning activity you can do with your toddler and you'll enjoy watching how quickly they learn their colors but also fine motor skills and coordination. This is a great gift idea for toddlers!

Perfect toy for my 14-month old granddaughter who loves birds
My 14-month old granddaughter loves birds and we love playing with these birds together. She has fun putting them on her fingers and playing peek-a-boo never gets old.

Cute and educational
So cute. 13 month old loves putting things inside of whatever, so this is perfect. I only gave her 2 for now. Will give her the rest in the near future. Teaches color, matching, emotion (each bird has a different facial expression), numbers (bird house has number and tail feather count matches number. She plays with them everyday. Recommend.

Educational
This is very educational and great quality. I bought this for my 14 month old granddaughter for her Easter basket. She already can put the lids on the birdhouses. I am working with her the match the colors together. She loves just playing with the birds and likes carrying them in her hands. She will pick up as many as she can carry. Value for money is good, ease of use is good. The whole set is really cute. She is playing peek a boo in the photo with the bird.

Lids knock off too easily....
I was really excited for this toy to arrive! I thought it would be a lot of fun to match the colors, to put the lids on the boxes, have the birdies pretend to play peek-a-boo.... First, the numbers on the birds are meaningless unless you're playing with a kid who is older than I feel like this is really meant for. If you're going to put numbers on a toy, have some other sort of quantity to match. Second, the lids come off REALLY easily. This might be a plus for some people, but think more like building blocks, less like Legos, if that makes sense. It is so frustrating for my son to try to put the lids on correctly because they're square - and then when he manages it, it's so easy to knock them back off! Third, and maybe because of that frustration, he really just has no interest in playing with this. There's just not that much fun play value in it that we have found. We'll probably put it away and see if it's more interesting as he gets older, but it's not a toy I would buy again.

Toddler Approved!
My Granddaughter just loves Ms Rachel. I bought these for her so she could have toys that Ms Rachel uses in her show. She loves these! Totally adorable watching her pick up the appropriate box when Ms Rachel had hers and following along. She played for over 2 hours with these. I have to hide them when she is here for just a short time as she goes into meltdown mode when mom or dad picks her up. They are very sturdy. She loved telling me the expressions of the birds, the colors, the numbers.

1.5 year old loves it
A hit with a small family member. Each bird has a number of tail feathers from 1-5 that corresponds with the number on their coloured bird house, each house has a shape to learn, and each bird has a different emotion to talk about. Lots of opportunities for learning colours, numbers and more. All pretty sturdy quality, price was decent. Birds can also fit on adult fingers to be used as puppets - they’re very robust so can withstand lots of throwing. One minor downside is that each house and each bird was wrapped in plastic, felt a bit overkill and wasteful, but the actual product was better than we’d hoped so not knocking a star off for it.

As Seen On Ms. Rachel!
Bought this because my daughter saw the toy on Ms.Rachel and loves to play along with the show! The birds are not a cheap plastic, they are a heavy plastic-almost rubber? Well made and well painted. The little houses each have a roof that snaps on in place but is easy for children to take on and off. A cute toy that is simple, but seems to be providing lots of fun! The “emotions” on the birds is a good teaching tool for learning different types of feelings.
