Just got a new TV in the bedroom which lacks the ability to have headphones plugged in AND still have the TV speakers when you need them, without needing to unplug the headphones. (Old TV did that) My first solution was adding a soundbar which on the optical digital out, works independently of the headphones, so that worked, but the digital sound was all over the place volume-wise between TV input sources as well as favoring loud music and effects with impossible to hear dialogue. Through the TV's headphone jack out, the sound was perfect. So now with this well-made splitter I can split the output and always have sound going to the headphones, and mute the soundbar (it came with a remote) when using those headphones. Works perfectly. No difference in sound quality either and a fantastic price. I'm always the guy who has a unique purpose for an item like this. I realize it's most popular as a way of sharing an audio source between two people and I would imagine with the sound quality it will deliver in that regard too.

I bought this to use in reverse to make 1 input 2, for separate use. I hooked my bluray player and xbox 360 to my tv via hdmi, then the hdmi port on my tv died... Still have dvi, but it doesn't carry audio, so I had to use the analog audio in port. I use this to have them both connected, even though I don't use them at the same time. I thought it would work ok, but when I have the xbox plugged in to this port and off, it cuts the sound from the bluray player in half... whether the xbox is on or not. Xbox sound is fine all the time, though... Maybe it's the way it's wired, maybe it's the adapter for my xbox, I don't know. not a big enough deal to take either paprt to find out, I'll just plug in the one I'm using when I use it... Didn't work for my application, but works fine for it's intended application.

I don't normally give bad reviews (you know... if you don't have something nice to say and all that). When I received this, the sound was not a good quality through the headphones, plus it kept cutting out...so you couldn't move at all. I got a dud with a bad cord, evidently. The worst part was, I tried to return it through Amazon, but it said this manufacturer didn't offer returns. I had to call them. I explained the situation and was put on hold, just for them to come back and tell me to return it through Amazon. Obviously, they weren't listening to me when I told them the company didn't offer returns. This item wasn't that expensive...I just wanted a refund. But after being put on hold TWO more times, they finally said I would get an email and to provide a photo of the item, the e-receipt, and my shipping address. I did receive a replacement, but the sound is still of poor quality. (At least this one doesn't cut out.) But I will be purchasing a better one on Amazon. Don't bother with this splitter or this company that doesn't offer returns and has a less-than-stellar customer service experience.

Quality of this product is really questionable. Fit of the 3.5 female connection is poor and can noticeably effect sound quality. Bought two. Already threw one out. Recommend AudioQuest (or other name brands) as a better option..

Had my front headphone jack on my gaming rigs case start to die on me so I got one of these and split the jack coming out of the back of my rig for go to my headphones and speaker. Works perfectly but obviously I can only use one at a time due to the split.

Esta bueno, se siente de calidad y bastante duradero, lo uso para conectar dos audifonos al mismo tiempo y se escuchan bien, lo único malo seria que los dos audifonos tendran el mismo volumen y se puede escuchar algo alto o bajo para la otra persona pero eso ya no es cosa del cable

Funciona muito bem. Quem comprar esteja ciente que vai haver perda de volume, mas por mim tudo bem pois a caixa de som e o headset que eu uso tem regulagem, é só aumentar um pouco.
