I Have to Tell You Something

I am not the type of person to go read massive books for the story, or someone who would read at all. I bought this book because I saw an image of one page of it and it sold me. This book spoke words into me I never knew I needed. I recently went through a tough break up, and this book was able to give me closure when she couldn’t. This book was able to give me soft truths that made me feel normal, and hard truths that made me feel human. I was able to realize that I am not the only one who feels this way, and that I too have a right to feel wanted. This became a daily read for me, and something I looked forward to every single day. It gave me easy reads, and reads that made my heart hurt but yearn for more. I’m so glad I bought this book. It’s made me feel whole again.

I came across this book on TikTok. I love books specially like these. I have to say this is my favorite by far. I won’t compare it to any of the books I read simply because each other has their own style, passion, target audience and each book is unique in every way. I plan to re read this over and over again! It allowed me to reach deep within myself. There were so many pages that left me like “wow” and made me stop to analyze my life, decisions and thoughts. The fact that I was reading someone’s thoughts as if they were my own. It made me feel like everything is going to be okay. I’m not alone and there’s so many people out there that may be feeling the same. There were pages in here that hurt but it’s all part of it and it contributes to your growth. If you have a chance, please pick a copy up. I promise you, you will not regret it. To the author, Zara Bas, I’m a huge fan of your work and I hope to see many more books to come. I hope your passion just continues to grow. I hope that fire is never contained. You have so much power through your words and writing. More than you’ll ever know. It has been a pleasure. Thank you for including us and making us part of your world.

I had seen some verses on Instagram and loved the message so I ordered the book. I was eagerly reading every page until I read page 47. This one page, 3 beautifully written paragraphs broke me and made me whole. I was able to unpack and process so much. Thank you, that one page will harmonize with me for the rest of my life. I will be sharing this book with everyone I know.

Very good book for emotional struggles

I originally bought this book for one of my friends who is going away to college and could use some “self-love” and some deep truths when life gets overwhelming. I didn’t think that it was something that I would pick up and not want to put down. However after reading the first few pages I found myself right back on this site ordering myself my very own copy. The writing is outstanding and holds some gentle and some harsh truths we all need to hear and can learn a thing or two from.

This book was a gift to a friend grieving the loss of a sister and going through a lot of personal healing. I read the book myself and the lovely affirmations and earnesty of her words is wonderful. I think the book itself could be smaller, as there is a lot of blank space and smaller would make it more packable for coffee shop sits. However, the space presents a unique opportunity to doodle below the poems. A wonderful gift for yourself or others.

I love so many of these poems! And I love the simple, minimalist style of how it was published. This is a perfect coffee table book, gift, or just a great book for your personal library.

If you have any experience with Acceptance & Commitment theory you will recognize the truths in Zara Bas’ words. Short these poems might be but they carry a weight that cannot be easily measured. These words are not Hallmark kitsch her words are grounded and grounding. Love & Loss, Self hate & self compassion. In such a short book she lays bare the complexities of being a living, feeling human being. This book is already a personal treasure and one I will return to over and over.

Zara's book was calming, thought-provoking, and beautifully raw. I devoured the entire collection and then went back to the first page and started reading again. I can't recommend this book highly enough, and it has certainly earned a place as one of my favorite poetry collections of the year.
