Go metal, great deal, nice pan.
Great pan and goes well with my new bigger plaster trowel. Very sturdy, well assembled, not too sharp on edges. Easy to clean with water. Used several times now for my attic and very glad for it. Great price.

Not too bad, room for improvement..
Haven't used it yet, but first impressions are that it seems sturdy and would be effective at being a mud pan. It is GALVANIZED, not stainless steel. The sticker on the mud pan didn't want to come off very easy, but almost any mud pans or knifes have the stickers on there. Maybe in the future they could do a cardboard wrap around type thing instead of a sticker. If you are gonna use this at work or you are gonna use it a lot, find a stainless steel one, as they don't rust as easy. But this would be fine for when you might use it a few times a year. I have never had a galvanized one before, but I hear they rust really easy. Its labeled as rust proof but who knows ..

I love it!
I had no idea how badly I needed this! I had been using a large, rectangular tupperware container for the longest time. When I got this I was surprised at how small it seemed but that's part of what makes it so spectacular! It fits so easy in your hand so you can work your knife with one hand and hold the tray of mud securely in the other. Edges are sharp but that makes for a really clean edge when scraping off the knife. Very happy with this purchase! Great value!

Just what I needed for my project!
Ok this may sound nuts but in this day and age.... I bought this to use as a UV light holder and reflector. I purchased an aquarium UV light which when water passes by the light it kills algae and other organisms. It puts out UVC light. Look it up and read about it. Anyway, I took the electronics out of the system including the UV light bulb and installed it into this mud pan. But first I lined the pan with self-adhesive plastic mirror tiles. I then made and fastened to the back of the pan a wooden handle. I now have a portable and highly effective UVC sanitizer which I scan mail, packages and produce. The mud pan was the perfect size for my application. You find strange things on Amazon reviews huh?

Quality is terrible
Originally bought one of these and had to refund it because it came damaged (one of the edges that were crimped/rivetted together came apart). When I got my replacement, it was fine for the first few uses but the same thing happened. One of the edges that was assembled together came apart while I was cleaning it. I decided to just get a hawk instead but recently, I tried using it again and the rest of the edges came apart. Horrible quality.
