Still Awesome After All These Years
Just like I remember from decades ago. They are translucent but you cannot see the card values on the other side because of how they are painted. They feel amazing, waterproof, and flexible (easy to shuffle) in hand. Love the hard case. Really unique deck of cards. Durable too.

the deck is great. It looks very nice and shines beautifully
I actually had a friend get me the "Idea International Gold Deck" on amazon as a gift which is what gave me the inspiration to buy th is deck. They are virtually identical in material and shine. I'm fairly sure that the producers use the same methods and material to produce each deck interchanging gold with silver for the variation. That having been said, the deck is great. It looks very nice and shines beautifully. The cards seem to be made out of a thin sheet of plastic with printing on either side making them light, easy to shuffle and durable. I don't think these will wear down as easy as cards made from the standard material. There are two caveats with this deck however. One (which applied to the gold deck as well) is that the nature of the cards makes them very hard to read, meaning they are not very good for playing a game. Only slow games where reading the cards doesn't matter as much like Hearts Rule would be unaffected by the card shine. It basically matters a lot where on the table you are sitting if you want to be able to read the cards. The second caveat is that the box these come in is a simple cardboard box that looks kind of cappy to be honest. This is especially in comparison to the gold deck that has a well fitting plastic case with a cardboard cover that make the whole package look very nice. Overall however I'm satisfied with the purchase (I collect cards) and I would definitely recommend these to a friend. Ask me if you want pictures of the box or how the faces of the cards work in terms of reading them and the shine.

Very cool deck!
I am a deck collector. While I don't have thousands, or even hundreds, of decks, I do like collecting. I don't have too many rare or expensive decks. I instead choose to buy decks that look cool. This Silver Metallic deck looks AMAZINGLY COOL! In fact, this is the second most cool deck I own. The Black Magic deck, also from Kikkerland, is #1 because black is my favorite color and black is the only color used for that deck. Actually, two shades of black. Light for the background and dark for the printing. The Silver Metallic deck is similar, but with silver as the dominant color, although the index pips are black. If you are looking to buy this deck, I would suggest this only for collectors. Not for people who perform magic or flourishing, or those who play card games. I say this because the cards are very thin and look like they wouldn't stand up to a lot of shuffling and cutting without getting warped. Plus, they look like they belong in a museum. They really are that cool.

They are great cards but my friends that regularly play cards had ...
I saw these on Reddit and knew I had to have them. They are great cards but my friends that regularly play cards had two complaints. First of all they didn't like the feel of them, these cards feel a lot different than paper cards so you may prefer something that feels authentic. Second of all if you hold a card up against a light you can't see whats on the card at all, it just looks like black pixels. To me that isn't a deal breaker because who plays cards in a well lit room anyway? Other than that these are great cards, the design is cool and I have had a lot of fun playing with them.

LOVE THESE CARDS
My brother received these as a gift in the early 2000โs. Thus began a war between us because I am a mean older sister, I would steal them anytime I could get my hands on them. Then he would steal them back. When I finally started a real job, I was able to buy my own. And now I buy them as a gift for folks - theyโre great hostess gifts, especially for snowbirds because Florida is so humid - they can use these to play outdoors.

Beautiful, but not for my poker nights
I love everything about these cards. The designs are simple, but beautiful and the movement is very clever and fun. At first, I was a little put off that each suit is a different color rather than the traditional red and black. That could be an issue when playing games where the red and black are critical components. However, that introduces some fun new versions of said games. The durability seems to be good, though I haven't used them enough to see how fast the textured surfaces wear down. I spend more time looking at them than using them because I tend to be distracted by moving objects. That brings me to the only problem I have with these cards: I cannot play poker or any game that requires bluffing using these cards. I have a pretty decent poker face, but all that goes out the window with these cards. I'm more focused on how cool they look than how I should react to my hand. On the plus side, cards with a bad hand look just as cool as a good hand, but it's still a tell when I go "Ooooo!" because the Queen is my favorite and the 7 has a fun shifting pattern. Though I'm sure these cards are more art objects than true playing cards, so nerds like me who are more into collecting playing cards than playing them will be happy.

Very silver, and very flexible.
Very silver, and very flexible. Note that these are bridge-sized cards, not poker sized. They measure 2.25" by 3.5". Poker cards are 2.5" x 3.5" These are also very flexible and because of that, they feel thin. They do, however, work out to be the same thickness as a regular deck of cards, but the plastic material they're made of is not very rigid. The plastic material is impressed with embossed patters that reveal themselves nicely in the silver finish, making these cards shine, especially under small point-source lights; under diffuse, fluorescent lighting, they'll tend to look a bit dull. Rotate these around under small halogens or LED lights, and these sparkle, as the various tones are made by using parallel ridges at different angles. The indexes, and all the lines, which would normally be black on a regular deck, are smooth silver, on a rough textured background. The red pips are also textured, and have an animated look to them when viewed from different angles, while the black pips are again, smooth silver. The face cards really come to life under sharp lighting. While these are probably too flimsy to be used for actual play, they do look nice and collectors will probably really enjoy them. My only complain is the box, which is just a plain black tuckbox with an open window on the front. This box is a bit tricky to open.
