Marvel Amazing Spider-man By J. Michael Straczynski Omnibus Vol. 1

Highly recommended book. Beautiful printed and sewn bound. This book is a good read with great artwork (always liked JJR). Get it while it’s still cheap and not oop. Volume 2 will follow soon (I hope)

I feel like I must give this 5 stars if only to get the average rating up! JMS caused a fair amount of controversy throughout his lengthy run on Spidey and some of it is collected in this volume (Sin Past) and there is far worse to come (One More Day) But you also have the respectful 9/11 issue here and also The Conversation in which Aunt May finally learns the truth about her nephew. JMS also takes on the whole mythology of Spidey's origin and asks was it really just a freak science accident or was there something predestined? It doesn't always work and it's a little convoluted but you've got to admire a writer who tries to add something to a 60 year continuity. I'd take a writer who takes risks over a writer who is phoning it in every single time, even if I don't always like the results. You won't find the "classic" villains here very often. JMS creates some new threats, most of them tied to the new origin story he's trying to tell. As for the book itself, it's a beautiful addition to the Spidey Omni collection. The cover art is one of my favourite images and the spine has held up on the first read through. It's a hefty one but that is the reason why you like Omnibus and not TPBs right? Now just to wait for Volume 2...

This is brilliant, this picks up where I left off as a teenager. The book itself has the best binding of any omnibus I've come across.

This Oversized Omni is really something to look at when you get your hand on it. The Cover is from Happy Birthday volumes showing an entanglement of Spider-Man fighting all your favorite villains and it’s breathtaking. This starts off introducing Peter Parker at a more mature state being a professor in Science at a College and being married to Mary Jane. (Spoiler Alert——>) My favorite parts from this story have to be Spider-Man vs Morbius and Spider-Man vs Doc OC & Scorpion + when Gwen Stacys Kids attack Spider-Man. This also introduces Ezekiel and the Spider totem plot line. Overall great read would recommend if you like Spider-Man.
