This was what I'd expected in terms of material suppleness and fitment... but the clips are made of the same TPU as the corners, quite soft... so will it stay clipped-on in an actual drop? I hope so. Initial impressions... Pros: good quality and precision for price; no mods with an Xacto knife needed to install, unlike other cases in this price range. Feel this balance of features, materials and price could be a good product for both seller and buyer. Black-rimmed clear version is quite attractive and seems sturdy enough for its expected duty, plus will show fewer scuffs when they do happen. Almost 2 oz slimmer than my other TPU-protected case; will save that for taking the machine into riskier environments, like the work site. Cons: Flexible case material also means the precision fit for clips can be compromised in a drop, esp those for the bottom half. Slippery footpads as mentioned by another customer; going to scuff them with a bastard-cut nail file, to give more traction to the TPU feet w/o embedding hard, scratching media from sandpaper. Think in a version 2.0, any small complaints mentioned here can be refined into non-relevance. As it is, I feel a strong 4 stars, just shy of 5. Would buy again -- if this level of quality can be maintained ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️__ --- UPDATE 15 MAY 2026: It is now the 2-yr anniversary for buying this BlueSwan MBP case. Just bought another to replace the original above -- and seems indeed, BlueSwan has updated the product for the better. All else is the same as described above -- the intuitive yet precise fit, the precision. But BlueSwan has changed the black bumper material to a stronger, stiffer one, which doesn't flex as much and provides much more grip onto the laptop in a fall (bottom half). It's still more flexible than the case material, but not so flexible it can be easily pulled off the laptop with gentle pulling -- my only real complaint with the original in 2024. I'm very pleased to see this change was made -- and that product quality hasn't degraded, as many, many products have done over two years in the Marketplace. Upgrading to 5 stars -- think it's commendable this company has not only maintained quality, but increased value to the customer as well, at an affordable price ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

In my experience, computer shell cases don’t actually do much other than protect against scratches, smudges, etc. This is exactly what I was looking for - a case that actually protects against falls instead of a shell that only protects against the superficial stuff. The case is made really well and fits my 14” mbp perfectly. Zero issues opening/closing or port access. It does not add a tremendous amount of bulk but does add a tremendous amount of protection. Think otterbox for your computer. The black is perhaps darker than I thought but it’s nothing to complain about. Still looks honestly really nice. I’m very happy I found this case. Recommend.

After searching for quite a while to find the best possible laptop case for my specific needs, I settled on and purchased this model from BlueSwan. I am glad I did as the fit is absolutely perfect, the color matches the laptop well and matte finish helps to reduce fingerprints. Installation was simple and feels very secure. If you are on the fence about ordering this for your MacBook Pro, just pull the trigger. An investment well worth it in my opinion. It adds very little bulk to the laptop and has very low weight added as well. A great case for a great laptop!

Solid protective case for MacBook. This BlueSwan hard shell case fits the MacBook Pro 14 M5 well and provides good scratch protection. The anti-cracking design seems solid and the material feels durable. Installation was straightforward - snaps on securely. Doesn't interfere with ports or ventilation. The matte finish looks professional and resists fingerprints. One minor issue is that it adds noticeable bulk to the laptop, which may not be ideal for everyone. The rubber feet on the bottom are a nice touch for stability. Overall a decent protective case for the price point. Good value for basic protection.

My previous clear case cracked and I was looking for an affordable alternative that wasn't so prone to showing finger prints and such. I stumbled upon this case and the price was right, but am sad to say that I'm a little disappointed. The materials used are generally pretty good, but it is not as translucent as what you'd expect given the pictures. You can just barely make out the Apple logo on the lid and the "MacBook Pro" label on the bottom is not visible at all. It is definitely a little bulkier than the case it replaced and the raised lip around the palm rest is much more noticeable. Fit is just OK -- there is a noticeable gap at the palm rest that has a tendency to catch the hair on my arms. There is no doubt that crumbs and other debris will end up landing in this area and getting trapped between the case and the MacBook Pro itself. This will inevitably lead to scratches unless you're in the habit of cleaning it constantly. The biggest flaw with this design is the feet. They are made out of the same textured plastic as the rest of the case and don't actually do what they're supposed (keeping the MBP from skidding off of a surface). Just typing this review, the laptop is slipping around as I move my wrists. If you're in an environment where you're worried about something pushing your MBP off the surface, please know that this case doesn't have you covered at all. Hopefully at a minimum, it will keep your machine from getting dented if it does go flying. I wouldn't hold my breath though. In summary, this is a solidly mediocre product -- I guess as usual, you get what you pay for. If you want something that actually works and fits well, look elsewhere.

I purchased this case myself and installed it on my MacBook Pro 14" and it was very easy to snap on. The fit is secure and it protects the laptop without adding noticeable weight. One thing I really appreciate is that it still fits perfectly inside my MacBook sleeve and doesn’t make my bag feel heavier when carrying it around. The frosted finish also looks clean and doesn’t show fingerprints easily. If you’re looking for a lightweight MacBook Pro 14-inch case that still fits in a laptop sleeve and doesn’t add bulk, this one works well.
