Small and lightweight but strong and sturdy.
A great purchase for me. I cannot handle a heavy electric skillsaw and this one is small, lightweight but strong enough to cut what i need. Love it.

Great little saw.
Love this little saw. On the job site it comes in handy and I can take it anywhere. For sure need to carry more than one battery if you plan on cutting for a while.

Lightweight, Cordless, and Surprisingly Powerful
The ONE+ 18V Cordless 5 1/2 in. Circular Saw is a great addition to any toolbox. The cordless design makes it incredibly convenient—no cords to manage, just grab and go. It has plenty of power for cutting plywood, 2x boards, and general DIY materials without slowing down. It’s lightweight and well-balanced, which makes it easy to control and comfortable for longer use. The cuts are clean, and the blade tracks accurately as long as you let the saw do the work. Adjustments for depth and bevel are simple and stay locked in place. Battery life is solid for typical projects, and it’s perfect for quick jobs, home repairs, or as a backup saw on bigger tasks. It’s not meant for heavy all-day framing, but for everything else, it performs really well. Pros: Lightweight and easy to handle Strong cutting power for its size Cordless convenience Clean, accurate cuts Cons: Not ideal for heavy-duty continuous use Bottom Line: If you want a reliable, portable circular saw for DIY or light job site work, the ONE+ 18V Cordless 5 1/2 in. Circular Saw delivers great value and performance.

Ready Set Saw!
The RYOBI 18V ONE+ 5-1/2 inch Circular Saw is the definition of "grab-and-go" convenience. While it won't replace a massive worm-drive saw for framing an entire house, it is arguably one of the most useful tools for DIYers and homeowners who need to make quick, precise cuts without hunting for an outlet. Performance & Capability Surprising Power: For a compact saw, the 4,700 RPM motor packs a punch. It’s specifically engineered for "2-by" material (like standard 2x4s), making it a staple for backyard projects, shelving, and light framing. Cut Capacity: With a 1-11/16 in. maximum depth, it clears a 2x4 in a single pass. The 50-degree bevel capacity is a nice touch, offering more flexibility than basic entry-level saws that often cap out at 45 degrees. Blade Quality: It comes with an 18T Carbide Tipped Blade, which provides much cleaner cuts right out of the box than the standard steel blades usually bundled with budget tools. Portability & Ergonomics The 215-Cut Promise: When paired with a high-capacity ONE+ battery, the efficiency is impressive. Making over 215 cuts per charge means you can finish most weekend projects (like building a workbench or a garden bed) without ever stopping to recharge. Compact Handling: The 5-1/2 inch form factor is significantly lighter and easier to maneuver than standard 7-1/4 inch saws. If you find larger saws intimidating or heavy, this model offers much better control and less fatigue. Features to Note Dust Management: It is compatible with a vacuum dust adapter (sold separately). If you’re working indoors or in a finished garage, I highly recommend picking this up to keep your workspace breathable. The ONE+ Ecosystem: Like all RYOBI 18V tools, it shares batteries with over 260 other products. If you already have a RYOBI drill or leaf blower, you're ready to go. Peace of Mind: The 3-year manufacturer’s warranty is one of the better ones in the consumer space, offering solid protection for your investment. Final Verdict It’s optimized for the most common lumber sizes and excels at cross-cuts. While pros might want a larger blade for heavy-duty construction, the portability and ease of use make this an essential addition to any RYOBI collection. Note: This is a "Tool Only" purchase. If you don't have a RYOBI battery and charger yet, make sure to add those to your cart to get started.

Ryobi ‘Brushless’ tech failure in 50 hours use
What can I say, after building a house with the old Ryobi Brush tech circular saw and breaking the safety guard; I decided to buy a new saw. Less than 50 hours of use later it is broken. The new ‘brushless brushes’ do not hold up to long term use. These small what I describe as graphite carbon brush replacements overheat and explode rendering the motor and machine useless. In the old days one could rely on a brush motor to last a number of years and fail upon using the brush; however now the motor is useless once the ‘brushless brush’ explodes. I tried to repair it and was able to make it run, however without the ability to open the motor and change this part; there is no way to run the machine without a new motor. This is my second Ryobi brushless tool to fail in the same manner. Both with very little use. As I mentioned my brush based saw is still running (unsafe) but a whole house now built and it works. The new technology is built to fail and be thrown away and bought again. The old was easily repaired and has a much longer life expectancy. DO NOT BUY Ryobi Brushless Tools. They need to switch back the technology or improve the existing one. See pic of what is left of the ‘brushless brush’.
