Fruit Tree Protection

Birds had started getting to our fruit; grapes, apples, berries etc. I bought these and they are a great quality. Ties are on both sides. You just slip the bags over the fruit and pull gently on both sides. They never came undone, I did not knot them either. The bags were large enough to hold more that one apple. We have very strong winds here. So when one would fall off it was into the bag. So no bruising and no birds or bugs eating our fruit. I would definitely purchase these again. I will add that these are reusable and has held up to our high winds and 110+ temp.

Love the fact I didn't have to change the drawstring-very easy to put on/remove, tying is not neccessary. Definitely keeps insects from grazing & may have some solar screening effect which reduces sun scald. If time is a factor, I recommend getting larger bags to incorporate whole clusters at a time. Choosing larger bags is very important if you are unable to monitor the garden daily. I was gone for several days last year had to cut some of my previous bags open in order to harvest the too large produce. Also, don’t put on until ALL of the “fruit" in a cluster has flowered because it does not allow pollinators access to the remaining blooms.

I like these bags! I use them for strawberries. It definitely keeps the bugs away. They're somewhat easy to install, and reusable. They're also good for making it easy to spot the strawberries. Sometimes I pass by strawberries are difficult to see under the leaves, but the bags help identify those locations. The only drawback, if you can call it that, is the green color. I was putting the bags on ASAP, but I find that some were not ripening up so well. I was thinking that maybe the green was filtering some beneficial wavelengths of sun light, and that maybe the white bags would be better.( I'll get white for next year and update) As for now, I try to put them on just before the bugs start chomping on the strawberries, so the effect isn't as pronounced.

Worked well enough. Was able to cover my immature peach fruit to keep pests off.

These covers work great and easy to use

These things are great and much better than another style of drawstring versions we purchased in the past. They cinch closed around the vine and stay snug without even needing to tie them closed -- which saves a lot of time when the fruit is ready to harvest. Fair warning: they work great against birds and squirrels, but they don't stop possums or raccoons from tearing through the mesh and feasting on your fruit, but I'm not sure anything but stainless steel would. :)

I bought these to try and protect the apples in my two small apple tree apples from coddling moths without using pesticides like I did in the past. They have draw strings and were pretty easy to cinch up on the small apples. I ended up installing 400 bags in probably four hours, when the apples were a little larger than the size of a quarter. RESULTS: The bags were about 80% effective in preventing coddling moth damage. It would have probably been better if I'd installed them when they were the size of a dime. They had the added benefit of protecting the apples pretty well from damage by birds, racoons and deer. That result is better than my past results using pesticides, where at least a third to a half of the apples were either infested or eaten by pests. CONCLUSIONS: The bags are easy to install and remove, but this method does add additional time compared to spraying. They are reusable, so I plan to install them again next year. Overall, very happy with the purchase and results.

I bagged my apples as soon as they were about a 1/4 in size frustrate, very early in the season, right after blossom drop and 75% of my crop has been ruined by worms. These bags don't work for apples but worked fine for my dahlias and blueberries. Unfortunately apples are a big part of my livelihood....
