32 - 35mm Natural Hog Casings

These natural hog casings were exactly what I needed for making a lot of sausage at home. They were well packed, easy to rinse, and didn’t have any strong odor. I used them for a big batch of homemade sausages and they held up great without breaking. The length was more than enough for what I needed and there was even some left over. The price was great for the amount you get and the quality was consistent throughout. Will definitely order again for future meat projects

We made several types of sausage (Italian, chorizo and brats). These are exceptional casings. Highly recommended. Great taste and light snap just like the butcher shop. Easy to use. And most important a very long continuous length of casing that is easily enough for 15-17lbs of sausage meat. You get three tubes in a package which will do 45-50lbs as advertised. These casings worked perfect and the preloaded straw makes them very easy to place on the stuffing horn. No holes. No knots. If you need less just cut at the length you need when done stuffing. Put the remainder back on the straw. Salt and store in the refrigerator. One caveat. You need at least a 5.5” stuffing horn for the full length casing to fit on the stuffer - so be aware of that. These casings are a few dollars more than non pre-loaded casings but in our opinion, were worth the money as you save so much time loading the casings and don’t end up ripping a casing loading it on the stuffer. We also bought some overseas casings and did not like them at all. They were very short (3’) and you had to spend a lot of time cleaning them and they were hard to load. Our recommendation are clearly these as the best.

I'm new to making sausage and ordered the LEM casings based on the Amazon reviews. I made 25 lbs of bratwurst today and these were relatively easy to use. They had no distinct smell out of the package. Hydrating the casings was easy. I found that most of the casings were 4-5 feet long, but several were under 3 feet. A couple casings had tears near one end, but morning too major. I'm happy with these overall, but I haven't tried eating any of the sausages yet, so I may be back to edit my review at a later date.

Absolutely the very best pre-tubed casings you can buy. I make A LOT of sausage, and I make 50-100 lb at a time with professional grade equipment. These pre-tubed casings arrive packed in salt and HARD PACK vaccumsealed, meaning they suck the air out until the package is as hard as a brick. This to me was a indicator of quality, as that much care going into the packaging usually begets a quality product. My suspicions were confirmed when I opened the package and did not detect one bit of the foul odor that tends to permeate natural casings, indicating that they had been VERY thoroughly washed and sanitized prior to packing. Upon rinising, then soaking the casings for an hour in tepid water, I loaded the first casing onto my stuffer tube. I was SHOCKED at not only how easily the casing slid onto the tube, but also at how LONG these casings are. Each casing held approximately 10 lb of meat, there were 5 casings in the bag. At first I was concerned at the fact there was so few casings, as most natural casings I buy are cut MUCH shorter. I stuffed 65 lb of sausage that day, and 53 of which fit into the casings provided in one package. Not once did i find a hole in a casing, not ONCE did a casing burst or tear when i did not intend it to, and not once did i have issues loading them onto the tube. The absolute pinnacle of quality casings in my opinion, they held up perfectly to smoking, grilling, and poaching, and had a wonderful snap, without being too thick and chewy. I will be using these casings exclusively moving forward. Absolute quality.

My family has done bratwurst for a few years and it may seem silly to pay more for pre-tubed, but the time and frustration you save is worth it. The process from start to finish is already long enough and the pre-tubed version cuts out all of the additional time. From detangling every casing during the rinsing process. To trying to find the end of the casing and the opening to slide it on the horn. Without it the convenience we used to have one person whose full-time job throughout processing was just worrying about managing all of the casings. Would buy again and an important thing to check which version of casings they are sending you.

We recently purchased the LEM Products Natural Hog Casings (32-35mm, 6.1-ounce package) for making homemade sausages, and they have been fantastic!
