Got it on sale... questionable value at full price
I bought this add-on for my Atgames pinball machine a few weeks ago. Normally $200, I was able to catch it on sale for $120. It installs easily to your ALP...just a few screws and a couple of wires to unplug. Install took less than 20 minutes. I gave it 3 stars...but I'm able to work around my issue. The joystick, trackball, and buttons work wonderfully, but the haptics that come with the control panel upgrade is just awful. Instead of sound to simulate bumpers, flippers, and slingshots...it's just hisses and buzzing from the poor mating of the haptics to the control panel. Unfortunately this is a known issue and you can remedy this by using some foam weatherstripping insulation around the bottom of the control panel to improve the haptic experience. I disconnected the wires to the haptics and use buystuff arcade's haptic feedback kit for the ALP. Overall, the control panel is a nice addition to the ALP. I am using CoinOpsX to play vertical arcade games when I'm not playing pinball...it was a nice find at $120 but if left to purchase it for $200, I would pass.
