I had a sliding door I had to keep in place so 2 puppies couldn't escape, using one of these worked great, but now I need another set! Review: VERY SECURE WITH PROPER SIZED BOLTS - Probably because other reviewers complained about insufficient wimpy screws, my brackets arrived with good strong screws which are the proper screws for the job. I screwed the brackets into the 2X4 wall studs on either side of the door frame, dropped in a sturdy 2x4 that extends well beyond the door frame on each side for good security. There is no way that door is getting kicked in (if it's even possible) without making one heckuva lot of noise.

Does what it says
Simple product, does what it says it does. Before purchasing, I read the other posts and so bought my own 2 1/2” scews (#8). These brackets come with 1 1/2” screws, but you want the extra length to hold up if someone does try to break down the door (the bracket itself is strong). Picked up a box of 50. While you’re at it, replace the screws for your locks with the longer screws, again, for extra strength. My locks had short screws.

Good stuff! Better than Nothing!
Good product but it's made in China! Mine comes with 6 PC's of 2" inch 10mm Hex /Philipps Head Lag Screws supplied in the Kit, they're good screws and provides adequate holding power but I didn't use it though! Instead I used my own screws!, I used Spax #10 by 2-1/2" inch Wafer Head (built-in washer) T-20 Torx Screws. The screws itself have teeth serrations so I don't have to drill a pilot hole I can just install the bar with ease! The bar holder itself I think it's made out of some kind of alloy steel I'm not sure! But the it's pretty sturdy enough along with a pressure treated 2x4 lumber, I sanded the wood and stained it and added some extra gloss. And then I have it! My front door now is well secured from the looters and home invader. Piece of Advice folks! Make sure your door is not cracked, broken, loose or have missing parts before installing this Hardware!

Perfect fit
I have a double fence gate and when the wind really blows it often jiggles the latch which lets the gate open and then the dogs can sneak out. With this and a 2x4 the gate is a lot more secure.

Love them!
I built a removable wall with storage to hide my water heater in my log cabin bathroom, painted them with matte black spray paint and used with a 2x4 to hold the removable wall in, love the rustic look! Supplied screws worked just fine for my application, very sturdy

Everything was as advertised
Rugged, durable aluminum brackets! I used the drop bar on a storage building at old cemetery to keep doors from being blown inward! I knew the screws were inadequate for my purpose so I bought longer screws at local hardware store!

Heavy gage
EDIT: These are not aluminum.. Burnt 2 drill bits, trying to go through this.. Not bad if your going for strength and there fairly light. But I was looking for aluminum on aluminum so there is no oxidation from different metals. Heavy gage for aluminum.(EDIT) They are 3mm thick, not 4mm like I was told from the seller.. 1 was slightly longer then the other by about 1mm on the end but no big deal bought for a light weight aluminum DIY E-Kart, build I am working. Should work very well. Will buy again in the future as well.. Wish I could get them wider like 4 or 5 inches
